    Spam

You may have noticed we had an early morning visitor who decided...

    1) We would all want to know about a celebrity picture site.

    2) In case we missed one of his posts, he'd tell us about it a few gazillion times.

Amazingly enough, this is a clear violation of the user agreement this poster had to agree to. Don has been made aware of this and corrective action will be taken. In the meantime, just ignore his posts, which will go away soon.

Hm. IP trace? Does this guy, perhaps, hail from Denmark?

I ask, because there were about 200 posts in my hotmail 'junk mail' inbox this morning with a return address that was "(something) .dk"

Filled my damn mailbox. I may have missed important mail because of that.

If only I'd remembered to report the @#$% before I deleted the emails...

    Taken care of.

I'll be doing some tracing of the IP and e-mail address.

Best way to handle these users are to ignore their spam/troll posts and report the posts to a moderator.

Nah...best way is go to Denmark and put a 10mm frangible through his head. But that's socially unacceptable. Not to mention illegal...

Well, that might get you in even more trouble; the spammer in question resides in San Diego...

Ah, so that's what all those weird posts were about.

I'm sitting here reading about different stuff in the Coda Trek forum, and all of these threads are talking about spam, but the offending posts had already been deleted.

I was wondering if someone had thrown a Monty Python revival and didn't invite me.

Damn those liberal California laws! Too bad he's not from Texas, where it's legal to shoot spammers, so long as you use a .45!

And we've got concealed handgun permits too, so you can legally sneak up on someone! I remember my youth hunting spammers in the woods of East Texas...oh wait, that was squirrels, not spammers. Nope, never shot a spammer. Dang faceless Internet.

The stupid are everywhere. You should see the people who send me junk mail- they want to know if I want to enter a lottery - in Britain.

There was one guy whose e-mail to me went like this:

    Subject: djrfheshsjr

    message: mspwehfhg

    Stupid or what?

And Lowly Uhlan, I've been to San Diego by the way... great place.
