Help me with displaying my banner

I've created a banner for my signature for my Starbase 619 Play-by-forum game. However I'm a bit confused about how to put it in my sig and have it link to the game's web site. Can someone give me the proper sequence of tags for putting in an image that is also a link to a web site? The URL of the image is http://www.geocities.com/erhershman/BANNER.JPG and the web site I want to link to is http://www.geocities.com/erhershman/index.html.

Can't be done with Yahoo Geocities Free Web Service - they won't let you display an image unless the html code is at your website - in other words an external website like trek-rpg.net can't view it.

Now if I had known that before I created the web site with them.
