The guy playing Stilgar is different.

The guy playing Corba is the guy who played Liet in the last miniseries.

The guy playing Gurney Halec is the same.

The guy playing Duncan Idaho is different.

The guy who plays Baron Harkonen is the same.

The list goes on and on ... the series rocked though ... anyone who saw Part 3 notice that Leto II has extra teeth ... sharp spikey ones like that of the worms ... hehe ... nice touch!

Stilgar is different, Halleck is the same.

Damn! Couldn't they have reversed that? Every time I saw Gurney my spinal cord kept leaping up and trying to strangle my brain!!

    And I loved Stilgar!

    Oh well...

It's the same when you are stupid...

Just watched the repeat of the third part, since I taped it but my tape came out badly. What a great ending! I had never read the book of Children of Dune, but I will now read the four books in the series I've never gotten around to reading!

The thing I think they improved a lot in this series over FRANK HERBERT'S DUNE was the music. I'm very sensitive to music in movies and TV, and I love the theme they play in Children when Paul... ahem, "The Preacher" dies in the street.

The music was something I noticed and liked, as well. I thought the twin's birth sequence -- music and steady cuts between the characters was good and atmospheric.

Daniela Amavia's performance improved a bit as the thing went on, but not much. Still, she got my attention. I think McAvoy did a great job, though.

I'm assuming they'll do God Emperor of Dune.
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
