The calm before the storm...(not political)

I don't want this to be political, let me say that at the outset.

I just wanted to post and say, whatever our views on the coming storm (and I think most people are familiar with mine), let's hope like hell it's over quickly, with a minimum of loss of life, on all sides.

I don't think anyone could, whatever their opinion on the situation, disagree with that.

It's times like these I wish I wasn't an atheist...all I can do is hope our people come home safely, and soon, and that Iraq is indeed liberated.

Now please, by all means, post your sentiments on how you're feeling...but don't use this thread as a political platform - it's not why I've posted it - I just wanted to "let it out"...
When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It is difficult only for others.

It's the same when you are stupid...

I would have to fully agree with you, Alderan.

I as well hope this thread does not turn "political." Things are bound to get very difficult in the next few days (and weeks) and it would be nice to talk about it.

My views aside, I'll pray for the soldiers and their families on both sides, even if I'm a lapse Catholic. I'll also pray for the Iraqi people.

I'm sure you all know my mind on the subject.

Let's get in, find the WMD, kick Hussein's arse, and get out. Then we can worry about setting up a truly democratic Iraqi government.

I'll even throw in an extra prayer for the troops on your behalf, Aldaron.

We here at G Co. 104th AVN appreciate your thoughts.

We leave in the next two weeks. Things are moving here at Dix now.
Some define peace as the absense of war. I rather define it as the prevailance of liberty

I'm joining you. The French TV looks like CNN this morning. Let's hope this ends quickly, with minimal loss of life.

Let's hope there will be as less death as possible, in both sides. Life is something too precious to be wasted for the sake of our petty concerns.

I offer no prayer since I'm an atheist, but I hope whatever I might believe in would spare the lives of the people involved out there.
