    Unhappy

    This is an unfortunate loss and something for a first for TrekRPGNet: To date I believe this is the first time we have ever lost a member.

    Although the vast majority of us have never met in real life and simply exchange communications across this digital media, I find myself deeply moved by the thought that a person that touched our lives--no matter how briefly--will not be joining us again. It is a sobering realization.

    My condolences to the family and friends of Jeff Glass for their loss.

    Barring any objections I would like to keep the account of Desslok on the forum as a tribute to his participation and to ensure that handle is not used again in the future. Jeff's last post can be found here.

    Sincerely,
    Don Mappin

    My condolences, Karg. Passthe on to the family, as well.
    "War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

    Even though I hadn't the honour of meeting him in person, I am reminded of, and this being a Trek site, one of McCoy's last lines in ST:II that seems fitting;

    "He's not really dead, as long as we remember him."

    Rest in Peace Comrade.

    Nothing I could say hasn't already been said, so for now I will just take a moment of silence and remember. Peace to him, wherever he may be now.

    Condolences to his family and friends.
