Had to vote for other. You had the right family name, but wrong person. My vote went to Commodore Decker. A man willing to die to make up for an error of judgement. I've always thought the death of this character particularly sad.

    Let's go for Saavik too.

Had to go with Decker. This guy reminds me of how I'd feel if I got a really important job like commanding a starship and them some stupid admiral just came and took it over. Perfect combination of bitterness and sarcasm...

Saavik(Chirstie Alley).Very attractive and quite a good portrayal of a Vulcan. It's kind of strange that some actors can't do Vulcans well (such as the guy that played Taurik/Vorik).Cold and emotionless seems like it would be pretty easy.

Also considered Valeris,a more personable Vulcan.I have to admit that Kim Catrall's more unabashed scenes on Sex In The City influenced this.I am a sick man.

Tough call. . .David Marcus or Saavik?

Also went with Saavik (Chirstie Alley). Wish she had continued with the character in the rest of the movies. . .anyone know why she didn't? And is it true that Valeris in ST:TUC was ment to be Saavik? Would have been cool if it had been (and would have made the Spock/Valeris sceen in Spocks' quarters make more sense).

    She wanted too much money.

Yes, Valeris was originally to have been Saavik. And if the "glaringly obvious giveaway" scene in the transporter room had been altered or omitted, I think the movie would have worked better that way. Much more surprise for the fans, and a controversy potentially rivalling Spock's death.

No competition. Saavik. The REAL Saavik; Kirstie Alley.
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

    John Stuart Mill
