Question The end of Nemesis (Spoilers, I'm sure)

I have not seen all of Nemesis yet, and I have a questions... and don't worry about ruining it for me.

I know that at the end, Riker & Troi are off to the Titan, and Data has been replaced by B9. But what is the status of the others... who went with Riker, who stayed, what positions if everyone at? Did anyone strike off on their own? And were any new characters introduced to take their places? I'm interested since I've had a thought that a game where players take on positions on either the Enterprise or Titan would be kinda cool.

Please let me know, or let me know what you think...

They cut the alleged scene with the new crew members. Might show up in the DVD edition in the special material...
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Although strictly speaking B4 didn't actually replace Data. Although we can all be sure that a continued franchise will see B4 inexplicably hanging around on the Enterprise Bridge like a Data/Wesley hybrid...

We can assume that Worf is back, and possibly XO... Although serious discussion was given to that, and the several reprimands he has received for dropping his duty for personal business (revenge on Duras, and rescuing Jadzia over the mission) might jeapordise this...

I say that Worf would be XO and La-Forge remains as Engineer but gets the Second Officer slot.

And that leaves Crusher right back in Sickbay.

So, for the new senior crew, they are really only looking for a Councellor, Security Chief and Operations officer...

So that'll be Tuvok, Harry Kim and Quark draftyed in for Trek 11 then. Whats the betting that B4 will outrank Harry Kim within 10 minutes?

According to the novelization, Crusher was off to SF Medical once more...

In the novelization, which has the scenes with the new crew members arriving, none of them are people we've seen before. The XO is a totally new guy... Cmdr Maxwell is his name I believe.

    Cmdr. Maxwell did you say????

I wonder if he's the son of (ex) Captain Benjamin Maxwell of the USS Pheonix who went rogue to attack the Cardassians in the TNG episode "The Wounded"?

If Trek 11 is going to be made and it involves Cardassians, you can bet that Cmdr. Maxwell will be the son and he'll have a personal vendetta against the Cardassians!!

    Just a thought.........

Actually, I wonder whether they intended to do another movie even before Nemesis made its flop in the theaters. After all, Data/B4 is now back to a Neelix like state, unless they pull a ST3 on him and have all Data's memories becoming suddenly active.
OTOH, Riker away could work like Sulu in ST6. Either way, reuniting the cast seems to become more and more forced.

It is a shame that Paramount did what they did at the end of Nemesis. Yes yes, I know that things always change, but I've really had to wonder what they are smoking over there recently. There is an upcommming Enterprise episode where Archer and crew encounter the Borg...yes the BORG you know them and how Picard was the FIRST one to discover them!!! grrr...

From what I read at Startrek.com, some archeoligists find debris and bodies that they don't know what they are (we know they're borg, we've seen borg) Buried in an ice plains on earth. (What the deal with THAT is is that they were 'survivors' from the time sphere that the Enterprise E destroyed iover 2063 Earth n First Contact, yay tampering with the timeline and althering their own show's canon history.

Oh, and for those of you who don't quite understand: The official word from Paramount is that there will NOT be another Star Trek: Next Gen movie made. That "One Generation's Final Journey" didn't only mean the fact that this movie was going to break the crew up, but that Paramount had no intent of writting another TNG based script. They left the door partly open in saying that if it makes enough money (I think the number was 150 million) they'd do another one, but unfortunatley it made only 47 million.

So whatever happens with Data/B4, is left to the books. (Most unfortunate, I must admit)

What I'd really want to see is a GOOD Star Trek Deep Space Nine Movie. And by Good I mean something on the level with Star Trek VI, First Contact, Nemesis.

What about movies for the other shows.

Would DS9 or Voyager even rate a chance of getting one?

I just don't think DS9 is designed for a big-screen movie. Instead, I think it would go best as a 3-hour movie or 6-hour mini-series, a la the Sci-fi Channel Dune movies.

Voyager?...eh....I'm not sure that would fly solo. Now, I think there is potential for a multi-cast movie for XI. Perhaps whomever they can get from TNG, and the rest of the cast filled from the other two shows. I don't see how they could do a movie without the Enterprise-E (the Titan doesn't have the name recognition....and I just can't see the Voyager as having the same presence on the big screen), so it's probably imperative that Patrick Stewart signs for the movie.

Just my random thoughts on the subject.

Dan: Quark? Counsellor?? Commissioned, I suppose???

Amado: Picard was the first to discover the Borg before he came to the 21st century. Explains it for me.

That doesn't make sense. Care to clarify?

Essentially, with the Borg contaminating the timeline in 2063, that changed the course of history as it was known. If any Borg had made it to Earth even if they were destroyed in the process, once their bodies were found, Picard and crew would no longer be the first people to successfully encounter the Borg and live to tell about it.

Furthermore, Voyager also indicated that Starfleet knew about the Borg long before the Enterprise had encountered them in the episode "The Raven."

    Regards,
    CKV.

Another instance where B&B has destroyed Canon. I wonder why there hasn't been a revolt yet over there in Paramount. Us fans have been calling for it for YEARS.

Even before the Raven though I had a bit of a problem with Generations...after all they rescued the El-Aurian survivors and one would think that they would eventually mention the Borg.

However, that is just me connecting dots as to what should have happened given the events so I can mostly ignore it.
