Forgot that one Robbert. And thanks for the suggestion which has sparked an evil plan...no I'm not telling yet. Although it might just involve an episode i'm going to call Yesterday's War. Not much to tell yet except it involves an encounter with the militaristic Starfleet from Yesterday's Enterprise which was my all time favourite TNG episode.
It is all here in the archieves I am sure, look under my old name AslanC...there are thread are thread about itOriginally posted by Lancer
Come on, don't be shy, everyone and their grandma are waiting allready for you to tell us this "long, long story" (well, at least I am )
Anyone know off the top of their head which threads?
But trust me Lancer, it isn't as hot as you would think.
We've set up an IRC chat session for tomorrow night as it'll be pure role-playing to resolve the early steps of this relationship. Hopefully it gets somewhere...stay tuned.
I couldn't find the real threads ... but since I recorded it all , here it is, in LGT Master's own words.
Actually, there are 30 more pages of it, and it doesn't seem to want to be copy-pasted so I'll stop there ... hope you'll be able to imagine the rest ... /me loves those Trills .Well it seems our Captain Murreal Lindsay has moved forward and found herself in a relationship with one Lieutenant Sito Jaxa (rescued during the Dominion War). With that said the two have kept their affair quiet from the others for now, as they both feel while the Prophets would understand their love, the vedeks may not.
Enter the wrinkle...
In the last adventure the Romulans destroyed the USS Saguenay and the USS Exceter.Visions from the Prophets have shown Captain Lindsay that this is a precursor to a Romulan invasion of Bajor, and she has decided to stop it. So there is a big complicated plan and they are going to steal the Orb of Time to go back and win the fight.
That said, there is a good chance that they will quickly forget their future as they slide back into synq with the new timeline (should they suceed). One that that will not have had the moment where Lindsay sought out help from Sito to understand her vision. One where they did not come together.
Devious no? They will feel something between them, but not understand what it is. Will they come around together again? Possibly, but without the spiritual catalyst to bring them together quickly, it may take some serious time...and who knows what else may change
Just gonna sit back and be quite pleased with myself on this one.
As my players say, looks like I got myself a telephone pole all greased up and ready to go
Thoughts?

RFLMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow....that seems like a lifetime ago
This lead to a conversation in IRC with Don one night about how one of my players (the roomie of Captain Lindsay's player) was a "Perky Goth"tm...somehow this all got twisted around into one being...the LGT...Lesbian Goth Trill...
There you have it...no where near as titalating as one might have though.
A player in my group had a similar problem with her Trill character. She was originally an unjoined Trill named Jasmine (no family name - this was prior to DS9 season 7 airing so we didn't know if unjoined Trills had family names.) We retroactively decided her family didn't approve of her desire to be joined and so she dropped her family name. When she narrowly missed becoming the host of the Kharn symbiont to the ambassador Darrin Kharn, who wound up serving on the same ship as the characters, the Quetzalcoatl (predecessor to the Icarus, the big Q recently met her end in the Dominion War).
Well it turned out that in a later adventure Darrin Kharn was murdered and Jasmine wound up joined with the Kharn symbiont after all. Upon joining, she discovered that Darrin, who did not get along with Jasmine at all, actually had a thing for her, complete with a Barclay-like holodeck program starring her...
To this day, three years later the Jasmine-program is still legendary. It is also about 8 years later in game-time and Jasmine Kharn is about to be revived as commanding officer. I've promised to try not to mention the program in the games...

We played out the scenario last night and here's the update.
The new XO reports to the CO in her cabin (yeah I know...I was pushing it) and they have a long chat about the ins and outs of the ship and the crew...well anything but to talk about what happened the night before...it was quite funny actually. Its obvious they're attracted to each other but just can't do anything about it. The CO because she doesn't want to compromise her position and the XO because getting involved with your CO is a bad idea...
They've got more XPs for role-playing than they got the last three sessions for pure adventuring. Maybe I should do this more often.
They've been doing well when its just them and me...the other players are joining us this weekend so it could get a bit interesting...now I'm just thinking of playing one warm up adventure before the Romulan Crisis kicks off, its called The Naked Infinity - three guesses what's going to be involved...this is where we separate the real role-players from the wannabes...wish me luck.
Well we just called it a night and I think I've created (or well I allowed it to grow anyway) a monster.
Yes I sic'ed the old Psi 2000 virus on 'em (the old standbys are the best) and well things went a bit down hill once it hit.
The XO was one of the first infected (it was his away team anyway) so he plants one on the skipper under the influence of the virus...get this on the bridge...so she belts him first but gets infected as well so they end up...well lets just say they got a bit more than friendly and it was left to the CMO to save the ship (as always in these episodes). Anyway they're now in denial but its obvious that under Psi 2000, you act out your greatest fantasy...so now everyone knows but are not saying...at least not to their face.
True. It went something like this
XO: Captain, about what happened on the bridge...I'm very sorry it was most inappropriate.
CO: I understand Commander...I've read Captain Kirk and Captain Picard's report on the Psi 2000 virus. I'm sorry I hit you but you took me by surprise. Friends?
XO: Friends. (they shake hands and go their separate ways)
CMO sniggers in the background.
CO: Something amusing Doctor?
CMO: No Captain. Just a random thought. (under her breath to the counselor) they are so in love...
Counselor: Why are they always the last to know?
CMO: You tell me Counselor.
Having reviewed my notes I've decided that this affair between the CO and XO is moving into the major character sub-plot catergory overshadowing the XO's rather convoluted backstory (more no that some other time).
Anyway the Romulan Crisis story-arc has to be push back a couple of weeks as I lost some of my notes on the bus (I left my notebook on the seat and I've never seen it again) So I'm forced to rework the material.
So I'm tossing some "routine" scenarios at the PCs including a variant of my Yesterday's War scenario (see Adventure Seeds thread) which I never got to play but it'll give me a chance to screw around with this major plot complication. Stay tuned for more information.
