Thread: [CODA] "Expanded Starship Operations" sourcebook

  1. #211
    Hi all !

KillerWhale: Yes, I accept your offer. In fact, we could do much together to better the Star Trek RPG, and maybe get a part-time job for decipher...

Oh well, I know Jesse or anyone at Decipher doesn't need us

So, if you have anything to finish and you don't have anytime left, I could offer you my cue on it.

    Bye

Thank you Tobian for the table and all! The figures seem quite coherent with a vehicle with scale shift, I'd say Well, if you have the time to B&W the sheet (other than print it directly in B&W), I think it would be a great help to people who have likewise color problems. Thank you! I'll put credit where is due of course First I'll have to do this resize bit. I'll do this as soon as possible.

Captain Ahnagha: Yeaaah we'll take over the world - ahem, did I say that? Well... if you offer your help, I have the starbase and vehicle sheets coming up and I suppose people would be interested in having form versions of these... Thank you!

You're welcome! Hopefully they will be as easy to do as the last one you did!

The one thing i did notice though, was that you have replaced some of the vector graphics with bitmaps, I should be able to fix that too - and get the filesizes down a wee bit! All the better to download you with grandma

Ohh and looking forward to the new sheets!

    Thanks Tobian!

Yep, the "twisty" okudagram is a bitmap - I used this trick because doing a vectorized okudagram under InDesign was a real pain.

Well, here's a lot of more stuff to keep you waiting:

Hell, forget sending in a Ng'var class vessel. I think i will just strip out the armourments from a B'rel class, and fit it with tractor beams - to tow this baby round LOL. That is one nice and deadly design!

Very nice work, keep up the good work!

    Well these should help...

Done them as EPS' with matching sizes, so they should just drop into your design (though thy might have to be scaled up?

Should work in In Design - They worked fine in Pagemaker (though they preview as bitmap, not vectors)

Looking forward to the Drydock series!

    Hello Tobian!

Thanks for your help but... erm... I don't want to seem stupid but... erm... what should I do with this? I don't see how putting these in InDesign will help do B&W versions??

Additionnally the color appears strange under InDesign - all blotchy, like a 64k color appearing as dots in a screen with 16-color depth

    I must be dense

Yeah that's what it's supposed to look like - basically In Design is displaying the low resolution TIFF preview - however when you export the whole thing to a PDF it will show the original vectors - and look correct - trust me - try it!

Damn you. Now I have the Kwickie mart song running through my head
A brave little theory, and actually quite coherent for a system of five or seven dimensions -- if only we lived in one.

    Okay guys. Ready?

The somewhat "amateurish" look is intentional; I don't want problems with Decipher. That way people cannot mistake ESO for an official sourcebook, still it retains enough coherence with the official line to be pretty in a gamer's library
