    Star Trek: Genesis - Redux

Okay the other thread was getting a bit long and I want to start taking all those ideas and put them down as one cohesive thought process. So this thread will be used for that. Feel free of course to ask me questions and make comments as we go, but know that I have made most of my decisions for the campaign (slated to start in August, maybe early September)

First, using the CODA Trek Narrator's Guide Series Profile...

    PROFILE - STAR TREK: GENESIS
    SETTING
    Era - 24th Century (years 2375 - ?)
Region: Alpha Quadrant (Tzenkethi/Talarian Sector), DMZ know as The Cooridor.
Traveling: Starship, shuttles/Runabouts, transporters, turbo-lifts and foot power

    CREW
    Organization: Station Administration & Population
Missions: Diplomatic, Defense, Rescue, Intrigue & Mystical
Composition: Multi-Species (Human, Klingon, Vulcan, Trill, Ferengi, etc...) and Multi-Profession (Starship officers, soldiers, merchants, rogues, entertainers, mystics)

    BASE OF OPERATIONS
Base Type: Stationary, Aging K Class station Deep Space Station 45, dubbed Paradise Station by locals

    TECHNOLOGY
    Era Technology: 24th Century
Available Technology: Starfleet & various other tech

    ADVERSITY
Threat And Opposition: Tzenkethi, Talarians, Orion Syndicates, Pirates, Cardassians (minor) and others by episode
Crisis And Disaster: Interstellar warfare, piracy and various by episode. UNderlaying story arc building as each season progresses. Primal evil, corruption and invasion.

    FEEL
Gritty intrigue, mystical vision and frontier stabalization. Plus conspiracy, apranoia, being the last stand against doomsday.

Up next (once I have read the section), Sector Profile, System Profile and maybe even a few NPCs.

Okay so we have hammered down the PCs.

Station Commander - Male Joined Trill (Starfleet)
Station XO - Female unnamed race (Local Militia)
Station Chief of Security - Male Andorian (Starfleet)
Station Medical - Female Human (Civilian)
Station Counselor - Female Beatzoid (Starfleet)
Station Ship - Male Klingon (KDF)

Also attached is the aging USS Iguazu, a Nebula Class held together but spit and bailing wire

The unamed race are the ones who own the station. The look I am using is Chiana's race from Farscape (Nebari?). But I am going to base them loosley on the Cygnans from Prime Directive.

As such I need a good name for the race, and am open to suggestions. Something good and Star Treky. Like the Denovians or somesuch.

    Any ideas?

Urm, just a thought, but I'm not conviced you coud argue that a Nenula class starship is ageing that badly in 2375. The class would only be about 10-15 years old.

It's a Niagara class, not a Nebula and it is one of the first. And it went through the war where it took quite a beating

    Ah that explains it.

Your second post above, however, does list Nebula class Hence my confusion.

No worries. Either way, I think Niagara is actually a nice choice of ship.

Okay some last minute changes to the characters that are going to be PCs.

Station Commander - Male Joined Trill (Starfleet)
Station XO - Female Nebari (Local Militia)
Station Chief of Engineer/Chief of Ops - Male Human (Starfleet)
Station Medical - Female Human (Civilian)
Station Chief of Flight Control - Female Beatzoid (Starfleet)
Station Ship - Male Klingon (KDF)

So we now have the race of the XO hammered down.

The Andorian security officer has become a human Engineer/Ops cheif and the counselor has become the station's flight controler/shuttle pilot

More to come as it develops

Now we know why Aslan needed that Nebarri info

Hope it helped. If you've got a CODA or ICON species profile for them, or the Luxans, or any of those other oddball races in Farscape. I'd love to see 'em.

So in making the Klingon BOP commander we realised using the formula of 2 advancements a year, doubled for every year in the Dominion War, he would have 44 advancements.

Now the civilian doctor by default (for whom there are no elite professions BTW) only came up with 10 or so (and that's with me giving her some bonus ones).

It looks like the range will be between 10 and 44. The Starfleet officers seem to be hitting about 25 - 30 or so. The civilians really get it int he rea though. Kinda scary actually.

Still with all the stuff the Klingon has to buy (rank, command, etc) he may actually not come out that far ahead of the others (expect the por doctor).

This game is at least 6 months away so it may change again.

    Question Hey Aslan?

Since you're in "full Trek mode", can I ask a favor?

How's about posting your interpretations of the Nebarri, Luxans & all those other races from Farscape -- if you've done them, you indicated some time ago you were working on them -- perhaps in a new thread?

    Pretty please with jumja sauce?
