    Babylon 5 Season 2 DVD

HA! It will be MINE tomorrow!! Unfortunately, it will be sitting on my desk at work mocking me from its nice, safe, warm box for most of the day...

Things start to get really good in S2 - Sheridan shows up, Delenn grows hair, and the Shadows turn up their mojo. Anyone else as psyched as I am to (finally) pick it up?

My wife and I finished watching Season 1 this weekend while we were on vacation, and I thought it was pretty cool. I had never seen it before, so I was constantly asking her questions.

We had borrowed it from my sister-in-law, and she has the second season on order. Hopefully she'll pick it up soon so that we can borrow that as well.

Cool! If you think Season 1 was cool, wait for seasons 3 and 4....

Has anyone noticed the disproportionate price for sci-fi series DVDs? TNG: $128/season. DS9/B5: about $80, looks like. Bubby: about $80-90. Compare with The Shield (a boffo show, BTW): $40. Sopranos: $40...and so on.

Can you hear the talk in the boardroom? "Yeah, sci-fi guys'll pay through the nose for this crap..."

I'd love to buy these, but I'm not paying twice the price of other shows for it. I'll watch my VHS tapes, methinks...

$80 for DS9?! $40 for the Sporanos? I paid $99 for DS9 and $75 for the Sopranos Season 3, and that was a good deal! But yeah, I've noticed it too. As for the Trek disks, it's obvious gouging, since the TNG boxed sets and the DS9 sets contain the same # of disks and approximately the same extras, but the TNG set is $20 - $30 more.

On the other hand, I'm a B5/DS9 fanboy with a decent amount of disposable income so I'm willing to pay.

Where were you buying them? They've been priced the same at Best Buy. (Around $99)

It's not just science fiction, it's Paramount. They and A&E have high price points on the DVDs they issue. Fox has a lower price point on theirs.

At Best Buy! My local store has the TNG sets priced at $115, and the DS9 sets priced at $99. I grabbed B5 there for $80.

    Amazon rocks

I just received Season 2 yesterday It was US$75 if preordered, which I waited until the payday before to do. Good Deal if you can do it. As for the Star Trek DVDs, Costco sells TNG for 89.99 and DS9 for 84.99. I saved enough buying the first set to cover the membership cost. For those who can't Costco it, Amazon carries TNG around 115. Sorry, I have too many crack habits (rpg, gw) to pay full price for many DVDs, now if only there was a way to get a big discount on Andromeda

You can get B5 for around $60 if you buy it from Amazon.ca. Maybe a little more depending on what exchange fees your card charges you. That price *includes* the cost of shipping. Mine is on the way.
