The movie opens Friday, and it's very common for major flicks to have a "sneak preview" on the preceding Wednesday. Tickets are not hard to get if you know who to talk to - book reps will often give them to favoured bookstore employees if there's a novelisation available, radio and TV stations hold draws and giveaways, et cetera. I saw Men In Black, GalaxyQuest and Return of the Jedi at sneak previews when they originally came out. They will also often give out free prizes - at GalaxyQuest I got a sweatshirt, T-shirt, ball cap and three sets of trading cards.

And also remember that Aslan works for a Radio Station, Does Voice Over work, etc...

For all we know we may have the Canuck Talk Radio star in our midst doing his first unofficial review!

Hey Aslan, bigging you up as a minor celebrity!

All I know is my fave X is in this one, ol' Blue 'n' Fuzzy hisself, Nightcrawler.

I'll just have to see what version of him they put in.

Personally, I preferred the wild-n-crazy swashbuckler version, but I hear they are opting more for the "But I Want To Be A Priest" angle.

    veni, vidi, vincit (??)

"I came, I saw, it kicked ass."

Okay, I'm not certain about vincit, it has been a while since I took Latin, but it sounds cool Definitely a good movie to see, worth the price, and in many ways better than the original (not just special effects either, storyline, characters etc.). I will be using some "Teleportation Combat" power pool slots for the villain in my next Hero game

    CKV: yeah baby!

On a related note, Famke didn't look so... much older... in this one. Don't get me wrong, still a very attractive woman but in the first movie, it looked like she was Tadpolling the fresh-faced younger guy playing Scott. This time, she looked a lot younger than the first time frankly. I don't know, She Who Must Be Obeyed said that maybe the others just caught up to her in the interim and she did not stand out as much in that respect. For all I know its BoTox or better lighting or something.

And did you catch the names of the gentlemen discussing Mutant issues on the TV in the bar?

    Too frellin' cool!

I vaguely recall that but we had a major distraction in front of us at the moment, so we'll probably go back and see it all over again.

Funnily enough at the showing we saw today (yes I have seen it twice already... I am such a mark) we had a crack head who the police had to come and roust. It was like a side-show.

    Like the man says.

Actually that's the classic phrase: "I came, I saw, I conquered", but I didn't conquer anything, it conquered, which means that you have to make "Vinco" (to conquer) an indirect neutral, which was about where my head exploded trying to remember what declention I had to deal with et al. For all I know, it might be one of those deals where the root has the same ending despite the fact that its application has a different meaning so you very well may be right (and I apologize in advance if that is the case). Which of course is why I never took more than that first friggin semester in Latin; context, context, context My only problem now is that I think it is a present-tense ("it conquers"), but hey, what the heck, still in theaters right?

Anybody notice Remy LeBeau's name in Stryker's (sp?) mutant files?
