    Favored Attribute???

In several places in the PG, there are references to "Favored Attributes". Most notably, it is referenced in the character archetypes and in the profession descriptions in Chapter 3.

However, I can't find any other references to this concept. What is a "Favored Attribute"? How does is affect play? Is it a mechanic at all, or is it just "for reference"? Someone please enlighten me on this.

Player's Guide, page 51, middle of right column. The favored attributes are the ones most important to your profession and are therefore easier to raise during advancements, i.e. your job brings more opportunities to raise these attributes, therefore you pay less advancement picks. (see PG page 153)

Each (basic) profession lists one attribute, which you automatically get as favored attribute, while you choose the second one.
Only small exception to this rule are Starship Officers, for whom the favored attribute depends not on their base profession, but on the elite profession they choose.

As Lancer said. I do recommened downloading the PDF on this link for Character Creation. This also has many useful page references to questions like yours.

    Hey my opinion

Without Star Trek: The Original Series there would be no other Trek Series or Movies regardless of shows rewriting the Series past.

Always thought the favored attribute/reaction kinda dumb. I ignore it, in general.
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
