I was pretty sure they also mentioned new Warbirds or perhaps it was in one of the episodes with Sela. I'd have to go look again but I was pretty sure that they made a reference somewhere that indicated the D'deridex or Type B Warbird.

*shrug* Don't have time to go looking atm though. I have also been wrong before and certainly will again.

    Regards,
    CKV.

AFAIR you get a shuttlebay with (Ship size = shuttle sizes) for 2 spaces. Starships limits the number of shuttlebays to Ship's Size/2 (round down) so the Ambassador can have 3 for 21 sizes of shuttles using 6 spaces.
I arbitrarily set the number at 18 instead of 21 because I felt like doing it.

I probably will do a 'rescaled' Excelsior sooner or later, as I am not happy at all with some of the penetration values found in Starships. Just don't hold your breath, it may take a while.

The "Warbirds" that attacked the Klingon outpost at Narendra III were from the Romulan fleet, of the Klingon design (from way back when the Klingons sold ships to the Romulans... sort of came back to bite them in the ass, didn't it?) According to the Vulcan Heart book series, the D'deridex was in design phase at that point.

Actually not quite. For each shuttlebay installed you get an allotment of shuttlecraft equal to the ship's size. So for example a size 8 ship with 2 shuttlebays has 16 size worth of shuttles, meaning it can accomodate either 16 size-1 shuttles or 8 size-2 shuttles, or a combination of both up to 16 pts worth of 'size'. Don did mention however that the concept is abstract, so that a ship like the Akira which can accomodate 21 size worth of craft according to Starship can house the pseudo-cannon number of between 30-50 fighters.

IIRC the quote from Tasha Yar was "You're more manuverable than Warbirds of that era", meaning Warbird is almost a generic term for Romulan ships.
