The Hall of Fire Webzine

After almost two months of labor, the first issue of The Hall of Fire webzine is available for download!

    The Hall of Fire Webzine

This unofficical publication is aimed at players of the Lord of the Rings RPG by Decipher. It has articles about mechanics, fan-made NPC's, new Fell Beasts, racial and order packages, plus much, much more! A lot of what is featured comes from the fans, so look inside for details about submitting your own content.

Sign up as a member of the webzine's site and you'll have access to the messageboard and chatrooms for conversing with the writers, editors, and other members. You will also receive each issue in an email as soon as it becomes available to the public. Your comments and questions are very much welcomed.

From all of us at The Hall of Fire, thank you and happy gaming!

    Hey GOB,

I changed your status on the website to "Leader". This should open up more options to you for editing, inviting, deleting... etc.

    Talk to you later.

    GoB,

While I have not read every word yet, I did give it a good lookover and its a fine first issue, I really look forward to future issues and maybe even dropping a article or two your way.

My only suggestion is to make a "printer freindly" version of the webzine without the graphics...or at the very least very low graphics (B&W maps, etc.).

Somepeople just hate wasting ink (I am one of them) and don't like going in and cutting out all the graphics and such just to print it up.

Thanks for the great work and hard efforts!

As the chief layout individual and Adobe PDF producer of this particular issue, I could create a non-graphic version of the webzine - it is not a problem. As long as GOB has no problem with us reducing the file to just text, I have no problem doing it.

I will not upload it to the website for download, but I woould be willing to e-mail it to those individuals who request it, if this approved.

We are getting requests now for multi-languages too!!

This is great, it shows that our efforts may turn into a very successful webzine!

Nice job, guys. I just sent an email asking for submission guidelines.

And I second the request for a text-only version. The graphics and layout are lovely, but hell on my dinky inkjet printer.

Again, great work. I'll put some submissions together and wait for your email.

    Bandwidth Problems Still

I've been trying to see this article, but like many I'm not having any luck. Any chance someone could email the webzine or post to a different site?

    Thanks,

    Tharkun

That would be great if you could.

Maybe the webzine site will just have to be for those that want to get on a monthly mailer of the wesbzine.

If you are interested, make sure you sign up as a member of the site and you will recieve a copy monthly.

Sorry for the hassle of low bandwidth - I may be purchasing an unlimited package but I want to make sure there is a demand before I move in that direction. That will be determined by the number of members and the amount of hits the site gets.

Until then, thanks for your patience and thanks for supporting our webzine on your site Valinor!

Unfortunately, there is no such things. The actual limit is usually around 5 GB. I have seen in the past "unlimited bandwidth" sites get shut down for that much traffic.

It is just "one of those things."

Also, I have no problem mirroring your downloads. That is what I'm here for!

You might want to post the submission guidelines right on the website to0. I sent a request a couple days ago and haven't heard back yet. I'm not in a rush, but it would be nice to have them right there.

I got it, thanks! A few questions for you:

What format would you like stuff in? I work on PCs, with Microsoft Word. I can send files in Word .docs, .rtf, and I can make pdfs of the work. I assume unformatted Word docs would be the easiest for you to manipulate into whatever layout program you're using, but I can do .rtf's just fine.

    Any guidelines on word count?

Any ideas on specific topics you're looking for? Anything forbidden ground? Anything that you already have plenty of and don't want more of? If you already have six articles on the mating habits of Moria Orcs, I don't want to waste my time writing one and adding it to the slush pile.

    Um, that's it really.
