I think just a few words like "...GODLIKE POWER(s)..." and "...f$#*@ing omnipotent..." would have done nicely. They gave them profession choices and prefered stats just like all the other Aliens in the book. Even if you hint at stats for gods/Q...then they are no longer gods, they're mortal beings. Last time I checked Q was not a mortal of any sort. A Q is more of a game-master tool, a representation of the GM within the game. Consider John deLancie's Q to be an extention of Gene Roddenberry.

Darth, take your lithium.
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

So I assume you are just going to complain without looking at the book. Your choice. I am not going to argue with you I was just trying to be helpful to your question. Take a chill pill.
Hey my opinion

Without Star Trek: The Original Series there would be no other Trek Series or Movies regardless of shows rewriting the Series past.

You can see there are no stats at all just written info we know about the Q from TNG, DS9 & Voyager. If you do not have the book look at them in your gaming store then. Personally buy the book if you do not have it. It is more important than Starships in my book.

(goes back to Starship CGR that is giving me a headache)
THis is my whole post. Not the first sentence. Please quote me correctly or not at all.

Having Q,Gomtuu, the Horta, ect. fleshes Aliens out.Not every player or GM will be able to use everything in the book, but some one out there will. And they are probably happy those aliens are included.Even though I will never use Gomtuu I enjoyed the read. Not happy that your favorite one-episode alien isn't in there? Then do what you did before Aliens came out-design it yourself. If you're a Ferengi-lover like me ,use the PG version (since this major race didn't make it to the book).I'm willing to put money on Decipher putting them in some other book (there will be a Merchant supplement sometime).

Concerning balanced aliens:I allowed the 1 Trill player in my group to retrofit his character with the advanced symbiot rules. In the last session of play he did what he allways does- backed up the captain and roleplayed an exceptional First Officer.Nothing was different, even though he has 3 past hosts. We added a new player that had access to Aliens and he went with a Human. That says something. And if it was a problem I would take actions to straighten it out.Thats the job of a GM.

Not to be a nitpicker, but trek continuity (TNG & VOY) establishes at least TWICE that Q's CAN be killed, if only by other Q's (and possibly similar lifeforms)

Cosmic-level power? Yes.
Totally invulnerable and totally omnipotent? No.

I looked through the book long before this thread existed. It's also not a question of your being helpful or not nor did I pose a question. If you're not going to quote me properly, then don't quote me at all.

I merely stated an old gaming factoid about gods and stats. Perhaps you need the "chill-pill"? And aside from my merely quoting your medication request...what kind of fool/wannabe cool person says "Chill-Pill"? Can you be any lamer?

I may have overlooked, but I don't remember seeing any stats adjustements or favoured profession for the Q entry.

And what is this thing with people picking a fight at the slightest occasion ? I'm starting to think Don should create a new forum for people who like to sling mud at each others.

And Aliens rocks a huge lot IMHO. BTW so far, out of the 5 books released, only the SOM (slightly) disappointed me. Oh, and the layout of the PG, of course . Keep the good job Decipher

EDIT : Minor typo and grammar corrections

Dart, T'Lara.

Stop whatever it is thats going on here now or we will moderate this thread.

T'Lara. Darth is entitled to an opinion, even when argued as offensively as that. We would have started picking up on the general tone soon enough.

Darth, its usually best not to start inferring others are 'lamer' or start calling names. That really is where the flame wars start, and doesn't reflect well on the poster.

This issue is over, you disagree on playing Gods. Simple. Any further and we will step in and moderate, rather than trust you to act like adults.

Now on with the discussion, please.

Darth Gurden...

There will be no more discussion on the topic from me. Lame or otherwise...T'Lara is forgiven.
