I have been running a play-by-email LOTR RPG game since mid-April, and we are planning to run for another 3 months. Unfortunately, I have just lost one of my players due to real-life circumstances. My game still has 4 skilled, experienced, and very active players, but ideally we would like to have a fifth player. This would be a new character encountered by the companions on their journey who joins the adventure already in progress, NOT a replacement player for an existing character. The chronicle is set in the early Fourth Age, and the action has taken the characters through Mirkwood to Dorwinion and the land of Rhun.

Only experienced PBEM players who enjoy that format and know they can be active (2-3 game moves per week) for the next three months need apply. Because this game is already underway and is being played by four very experienced PBEM gamers, this would not be an appropriate learning environment for a brand-new PBEM gamer. Any candidate should also be fairly knowledgeable about Middle-earth and "The Lord of the Rings" books (just having seen the movies is not enough).

If you meet the above characteristics and are interested in playing, please send me an e-mail (scott_metz@yahoo.com) with a short bio of your PBEM gaming experience and a *brief* sketch of a character background (we would work out the full version together). The type of character our new "Fellowship" needs is a Noble, Minstrel, or possibly Magician; the character should be a Northern Middle-Man (Dale, Lake-town, Rhovanion) or possibly a far-wandering Elf or Dunadan of the North who for some reason has found himself in Dorwinion.

I hope to receive any interested replies by no later than Thursday, 19 June 2003, after which time I will select a candidate. Thanks for your consideration!
