    Talking creatures cover:)

Hey guys, usacomicbooks.com has the creatures cover now on display. Great looking cover. It's release date is 6/29. The only question I have is this:why is there a Ferengi on the cover and not in Aliens? I consider them more of a race, not a creature.

Isn't that a Gorn in the upper corner too? Maybe because both races have creature-type abilities... (blind supposition)

He's there as a podium for the tribble.

Nice catch Erik, why had I not noticed it? Still, Ferengi have "Immunity to Psionics" which might be subject to a line or two in this new book (I think it costs 18 picks in the original creatures section) and the Gorn have claws, natural armor etc. I just hope it doesn't just have a few addendums and updated charts where I have to reference two different books in order to make creatures.

That Ferengi on the cover is Quark, and if you look a little bit closer you will notice a Tribble sitting on his head. And I believe it is more likely that they will put Tribble stats in the book than those of the Ferengi. Now, we will finally see, if my theory of Tribbles being "tough" and having "brak'lul" is true.

Perhaps the Ferengi (although I don't think that's a Gorn) is there is because this book will/might contain rules on how to make your own (alien) species. This is a guess/minor hope at best.

I think you already can. Just use the rewards table in the NG and add up the number of picks. I only know this because someone has complained about some (player character ?) species in Aliens being unbalanced to compared to those in the PG.

Let's try to identify those creatures on the cover.
Upper right: energy-sucking space creature (designation in the SF Survival Guide: Alpha Omicron creature
Below that: degenerated Worf from TNG episode "Genesis" and Mugato
    Lower right: M-113 ... creature
Ferengi and Tribble are obvious, but I don't know what's that in the upper left corner, and there seems to be another animal in the lower left corner. Do you know what those are?

I believe the creature in the corner might be the ophidian/cane from "Time's Arrow". It looks like it, but the picture is too small for me to be sure.

I wonder if the Denevan neural parasites are written up <eg>.

If that is a Gorn, which I doubt, I like it.

The Gorn are in Aliens. I believe the creature in the upper corner is Kruge's pet from Star Trek III.

Are you sure about that? As far as I remember during the first traveller episode a targ meterialized on the bridge and it looked much more like a boar to me.

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia it is. The entry for Targ is accompanied by a picture of the Kruge's "cute lil' puddy cat" from ST III.

I just went back and watched Trek 3....its a targ on the cover. Kind of reminds me of my cat...cute, cuddly, and likes the taste of human flesh.
