Thread: LotR IRC Game: Players Wanted!

  1. #16
Outline sent =). I would prefer every other Friday night, but I can easily do Saturday nights as well. I got mIRC and everything is working fine, my only problem is I can't find a dice roller program in it. Or is there another file we have to install for this? Hope to get together with everyone soon!

I probably cannot play Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday nights, because of a D&D game I am playing in. I KNOW I cannot play Thursday or Sunday nights, becuase I am DMing a D&D game. Friday sounds absolutely supurb to me. I just need to think of a character.

Friday nights it is then! It seems to be the night most of us can play.

Once I get a quick outline from each prospective player, I'll send along the character creation guidelines. Nothing fancy or complicated, just a few things I want to clarify and establish.

    Cheers,

    Steve

Change of plans. Upon further reflection, I think I will use a die roller so that everyone's rolls are made in the open. Hopefully, everyone will feel a little more on a level playing field as a result!

Steve, is this game still open for players or is it closed? Sounds intriguing. I've gamed for 18+ years, but don't know how an IRC game would work.

PM or email me if there's still room for another avid LOTRer.

    Hey folks,

A general hail for all those interested in playing in my LotR online game:

We'll be having an info chat on Saturday July 19th starting around 7:30 PM EST. If you want to play, try to make it to the chat as we'll be covering all the basics of IRC chat games, character creation, house rules, and other stuff related to the game.

    Using IRC the location is:
    irc.magicstar.net (port #6667)
the channel is "#trekrpg" (no quotes)

If you don't use IRC yet, you can get to the chatroom via the web at:
    http://www.magicstar.net/javachat/
the channel is "#trekrpg" (no quotes)

If the room gets crowded I'll provide an alternate room so we don't disturb all the folks gabbing about menage a Deanna Trois, T'Pol's brass pole dancing skills, and LGTs!

Cheers, I hope you can make it! BTW, my handle in the chat will be Sauronsteve.

Uh-oh. It's never a good sign when the Narrator refers to himself as "Sauron" before the game even begins! I'll plan on being there Saturday evening.

    Talking I agree Ineti!

Indeed... I mean if he would have referred to himself as "Saruman" or even "Smaug" I wouldn't have trembled that much, but Sauron? And this is 4th age so who knows what types of nasty evils he's thinking up *gulp*
Speaking of the campaign, are we allowed to talk about what races/orders we are playing? I am very much interested to find out what types of chars are in the game, and how many people are playing! I don't even know a #

Mwah-ha-ha-ha! Nah, I'm not as evil as Sauron. No really!

Four or five people have shown interest in playing, but I don't know yet how many will eventually wind up playing. I'm hoping we can start the game the week after the chat, but I 'spose that'll depend on how many people show up. I think we'll need at least three to have a decent game.

Alathriel: I'll send you some info about your fallohide fella tonight. I'm digging this character, you've done a good job with him!

Sorry guys, it turns out I can't make my own chat tonight! Yikes! My mom is recovering from pneumonia and tonight is the only night I can make it to visit her in the hospital.

Because of SARS in Toronto, the "powers that be" in charge of the hospitals are placing tight restrictions on what times and how many people can visit patients!

I have to split and get to the hospital by 8 PM! It's 7:30 now. Oy vay!

Many apologies, I'll get in touch with all of you in the next day or so.

    Cheers,

Gnarley, Steven had to cancel the game due to lack of player interest. As it was, I believe me and my one friend were the only people who were showing active interest in the game (which didn't get a chance to start). Perhaps if more people were interested and could actually committ and send characters to him he might try to start a game again, but I don't know. =) It would be nice though, because I really wanted to play!
