Picked up a copy at GenCon, and was impressed. My only complaint is that a number of critters were sans illustation and/or adequately detailed description.

Just recieved my copy of Creatures this morning from Orcs Nest here in the UK - see my entry on the Creatures Manual Thread.

I haven't had much time to go through it in any detail but it seems to be packed with entries (over 60 according to the splurge on the back cover). Included within it are both creatures seen on the TV Shows themselves (such as Targs, Corvan Gilvos and the Mugato), some that were merely mentioned (the Rectyne Monopod and Klingon Sark, for instance) and some that originally appeared in LUG products (like the Nausicaan Ripperworm). Tribbles ARE included too, as are - for some reason I can't quite fathom - the Exocomps (the little robots that appeared in the TNG episode The Quality Of Life). Like RaconteurX, I would like to have seen more illustrations in the book, possibly in the form of a pull-out section.

As to whether it's worth the money (£15.99 here in the UK), I'm in two minds about. I may well post this on the Creatures manual Thread once I've read it further.

Got my copy yesterday.I'm running a few games at the LGS annual mini-con and when I got there the manager gave me a copy for free because I'm running Trek games !Can't beat that price!

Would have liked more illustrations,but the book has a lot of info for its size.Haven't had a chance to read the expanded creature rules bbut it seems like they expanded on the NG rules nicely. Already have a couple of episode hooks in mind using whats in the book (DIRKONIUM CLOUD CREATURE-OH YEAH).Not a book that will figure as heavily in my game design work as Aliens or SS, but I like it.I'll give it a 7.

Would have gladly paid 25 bucks for it.I'm glad I don't have to buy it in Canada.

I'd pick one up at that price. Have to say, this book really didn't interest me; I'd much rather see the Worlds book. Hopefully, they'll get it out the door soon.

What, no "Dog, Domesticated, Small, Beagle"? Or is that coming out with the Enterprise sourcebook?

Sorry, Doug, I couldn't resist. I was told that the book was slowly making its way out west (warehouse by warehouse, it seems). It should've reached the Left CoastTM as early as yesterday (Friday), according to my FLGS's distributor.

Nah. They make a note in the description of "Dog, large" indicating that with a little tweaking and you can have everything from a poodle to a mastiff.
