    "The Lord of Darkness" Chronicle

    Hello fellow LOTR gamers,

I'm writing to share with you the LOTR RPG chronicle my group has been running as a "play by e-mail" game for the past several months. It is called "The Lord of Darkness", an imaginative story set in the 15th Year of the Fourth Age. King Elessar has called his retainers and allies to a 'Council of the North' in Rivendell to plan the long hoped-for campaign to crush the Orcs of Mount Gundabad, but the man once known as Aragorn is distraught over the disappearance of his old friend and servant, the Dunadan loremaster Belemir. Drawn together by destiny, a new Fellowship is dispatched from the Council by the King to locate the missing Belemir, who may have discovered a lost artifact of unspeakable evil and power. While searching for the lost loremaster, they confront an emerging darkness long forgotten in the West that threatens to engulf first Rhun and then all Middle-earth.

The story is available as a series of HTML pages on my website, mid-way down under "LOTR RPG Chronicle":

Part I and Part II of the story are complete and ready for you to read; Part III is still underway and will hopefully be uploaded soon. If you're interested, keep your eyes open for future announcements here. Thanks!

In Part III the heroes track the missing loremaster Belemir into the wilds of Dorwinion, a land threatened by war over the shards of the Black Crystal. The fourth (and final) part is currently being planned and will be posted on the website in the near future. Stay tuned for updates.

"The Lord of Darkness" Weblog Complete

The fourth and final part of "The Lord of Darkness" chronicle has just concluded, and the complete weblog is now available to read on my website (http://www.geocities.com/scott_metz/lotrgame1.html).

The time is the 15th Year of the Fourth Age. A new Fellowship has been dispatched from Rivendell by King Elessar in search of a missing Dunadan loremaster. While seeking the lost sage, the new Fellowship discovers the reappearance of an unspeakable evil from a forgotten age. Drawn to the distant land of Dorwinion, the heroes find themselves caught up in the tides of war between Easterlings, Orcs, and the Dorwinion Men. In the newly completed fourth part of the story, the heroes track Belemir to the countryside villa of Master Galleth, where the sage has been treating Galleth's comatose son. Caught up in the intrigue over Galleth's shard of the Angril, the companions find themselves facing trolls, dumbledors, and an entire goblin army! The safety of the West now depends on a desperate victory in the Far East...
