I am in command of a Yahoo club, which is part of a series of clubs under a Starfleet Admiral. My club is the IKS Batlh'veSDuj, a K'vort Class Bird Of Prey battlecruiser. Although we have been launched, we are only three active players who will be tasked with roleplaying NPC's until other players sign on. My Character is Captain Martok.
Now before you go asking, "Captain Martok?", let me brief you on that. Yes, it is the same Martok that we have all come to know and love as a General, and then as Chancelor of the Klingon High Council. However, as Chancelor, although I found my office dutiful in the name of the Empire, I was hearing the cry of the warrior once again! So I turned my mantle and cloak over to a trusted aide, and busted myself down to Captain, (although for all intents and purposes, the Council regards me as carrying all the weight and authority of a General!)
So, :P LOL
Anyway, here is the overall synopsis.
Admiral James Cook of Starfleet Command has been putting together an experimental Federation Assault Fleet. In this fleet, there is also the IKS Batlh'veSDuj. The Batlh'veSDuj has also been assigned to outpost Deep Space Nine, to serve as a mobile defense platform alongside the USS Defiant.
It is months after the Dominion War. Starfleet, the Klingon Empire, and the Romulan Star Empire are all rebuilding and recovering from the costly war. However, there seem to be some factions on the other side that did not want to see the war end so quickly.
Several outposts on both sides of the Federation/Romulan Neutral Zone have been destroyed. The Feds and The Romulans believe it to be the work of the Breen. A starship from the Federation Assault Fleet has been dispatched to investigate.
The Batlh'veSDuj has another mission! According to Starfleet Intelligence, based on the reports of an operative inside Cardassian space, there is a joint Obsidian Order/Breen spacefleet being amassed.
( Yes, I know, the Obsidian Order is dead in canon trek. However, that does not mean that there aren't some conservative Cardassians who would love to get a shot at the title once again. And the Breen never did surrender or agree to a cease fire, or even an end to the war. All this is simply for the sake of the game...epic in scope!)
Anyway, our mission is to go to Cardassian Space to confirm these reports. If true, we return to Deep Space Nine, and begin formulating a plan for sabotage, or perhaps even attack before the fleet can get fully underway.
Along with what the Admiral is "cooking" up, he has allowed me to begin interweaving a thread which will at first serve as a side story, and then perhaps once the new crisis is resolved, could become the forefront story in the clubs.
If you have the heart of a Klingon Warrior, if your blood is of Qo'noS, (and if you don't mind playing by message boards), then the IKS Batlh'veSDuj needs you!
I already have a first officer and a chief helmsman.
These are the other positions available, and the ranks commensurate to them:
Second Officer: LCDR
Chief Engineer: LCDR
Tactics Officer
(Chief Gunner): LT.
Gunners
(3 slots): Ensign-LT.j.g.
Chief Navigator: LT.
Senior Communications: LT.
Troop Commander: Captain (Equal to Naval
Lieutenant)
There are also subordinate positions available for Helm, Nav, Commo, Engineering.
I know this looks like a lot of positions, and it probably is too many, but then again, I say the more the merrier.
Playing RPG's by message board is somewhat slow, but I can at least guarantee that once a day, you will see new entries in by the players. I check the message boards at least three or four times in case there is an upsurge of activity.
The Troop Commander and Chief Engineer positions have now been taken. Please read the previous messages, and see which other positions may be available. The IKS Batlh'veSDuj is growing. Be a part of the adventure. Honor and Glory await!
Q'apla!
