I am starting up a new Lord of the Rings PBEM game. It will take place in the Third area, around the time of the novels. This will be my first time Narrorating a LotR game but i am a vetren player of Star Wars D20 so im not a newbie to roleplaying. So heres the flavor text.
Many years ago, during the war of the last alliance, the forces of the Shadow conquerd much of middle earth. Those members of the Last alliance were not the only ones threatened by the Dark Lord. The dwarves too faced the peril of the war. Because of this the greatest craftsen of the Dwarves forged a scepter for Gerdin, a wise lord and General of the dwarven people. With it he led them in battle against attacking orcs time and time again. Each time victory was theirs no matter the odds. It seemed that the Dwarves had the power to resist Sauron all on their own
Until it was stolen.
A foul orc named Glozd killed Gerdin and stole the scepter. With it he and his tribe slaughtered thousands of elves and men. Fortresses and armys fell before him, and middle earth faced and even greater peril then before. However Glozd failed to realize he too was vunrable. Three great men went on a quest for the object of power, and against all odds reteived it.
It was returned to the Dwarves. After much debate it was decided that the scepters power was too great, and if it were ever to fall back into the enemys hands the results would be unheard of. So it was hidden, and the scepter of Gerdin became the focus of song and myth.
Thousands of years pass, and the Dark Lord has returned. His armies once again threaten the people of middle earth. Legends of the scepter are told more frequently, and now their is a clue to where it may be found...........
Ok. If you wish to join drop me an e-mail here. Id like to have a mix of races and classes, and their will be a reward for anyone who picks something differnt, such as a hobbit, or the minstral order. All races and orders are open, including magic using ones. I'll determine the number of advancements according to how many people are in the group. Your character will be experianced though, so adjust your backround accordingly. Im just setting up the site where this will take place so i'll post a link to that ASAP.
Sure, not a problem. I am handleing all dice rolls personally. That being said you really just have to be descriptive in what you want to do and have a basic understanding of what you can do, which i can also help with.
