Dunno. I'm assuming it'll be late; the Worlds book still isn't out. Probably overdid it on trying to get product out and are falling behind. Considering they've done pretty well this year on getting close to their release dates, I figure that's acceptable.

I think we are going to enter another long period of "way behind on scheduled releases" after pumping out three volumes fairly quickly.

Besides, they'll probably put more of their efforts into LotRrpg, which is probably selling better due to a larger fanbase.

I consider the Klingon book the Holly Grail of Star Trek books. All I need now is to know what's the contents of the book.

    Anyone have that information?

Close. Counts in horeshoes, hand grenades, and RPG supplements.

    *sigh*

I'm still trying to figure out the UPP (Universal Perverse Psychology) trick to making things come out on time.

I've already figured out that it only rains when I forget my umbrella, and that if I say something nasty about an acquaintance, they're invariably standing nearby.

Maybe if I publicly state that I'll give up hamburgers if both the "August" books come out by the end of September?

Naah, probably not humiliating enough. Plus, I have no intention of giving up hamburgers.

Nope. Just say that you will stop RPGing and that you have no interest in CODA anymore (also known as the boiling teapot strategy).

You have to give that to Decipher, however, they followed rather correctly their schedule up to June. Considering that last year followed the same pattern, I wonder whether this isn't somehow part of their strategy - Trek books at the first part of the year, and LOTR at the second part. Understandable, as long as they're rather new to the RPG business and maybe don't want to spend too much of their ressources on it.

Unless their printer takes really, really long summer vacations...

    I feel ya

Hmmm I understand ya'll frustration but without Decipher we wouldn't have the fine Star Trek products. If we help move their products by telling people how great they are, then maybe we'll get products faster. We make all our players (6) buy a Player's Guide because it helps them understand the game better before we play. Plus if they are Star Trek fans they'll want it anyway. As for the Klingon Source book I do hope they include NPCs from the different eras and the reason why Klingon have mumps on their heads! Great warriors in Klingon history, ships, how they conquered their piece of the pie, why they hate tribbles, and so on.

It would be nice to receive some previews from some soon to be released books.

I'm at the cross roads right not where I can spend my money on D20 products or Decipher. I would rather spend it on Decipher materials.

I'll purchase the worlds book and Klingon book and if I have enough left over maybe the creatures book.

Nothing like working a crowd in to a frenzy.

Don't make me revert back to D20 games. ::shudders::

    No pro-blame-oh

Well check this site out... They have pictures of the covers of some of the soon to be released books. The folks are very good about keeping those that pre-ordered up to date.

    Hope this helps.

Just finished re-reading "The Final Reflection," a wonderful (if non-canonical) piece of Klingon fiction. FWIW.

No kidding: that work, along with the excellent first and second edition rules that John M. Ford contributed to, stood as the resource for the Klingons and a substantial percentage of FASATrek's history and background, at least until TNG came along and told everybody to get out of the pool. While I've certainly come to accept that Mr. Ford's vision was not regarded by TPTB as canon, there was more internal logic and coherence in his view of the Klingons - their way of life, their outlook on the universe and their place in it - than in any other I've yet seen.

Ah, I loved Final Reflection. Though I think to an extent it can still work as a guide to TOS era Klingons. It seems obvious Klingon culture changed between Archer's time to what we see in TOS, and began slowly reverting to 'true' Klingon values throughout TNg and DS9. IMHO anyway
