    Worst TNG Episode Ever

So theres a debate on the best TNG ep ever and we've all got our favourites (mine being Yesterday's Enterprise closely followed by Best of Both Worlds).

But what does everyone reckon is the worst episode ever?

I'd like to nominate the entire second season personally but if you had to tie me down to a comfy chair and torture me with a big fluffy cushion then I suppose i'd say:

    The Price.

    IMHO.
We have all your working biros and we're not afraid to use them.

Leave a box of used postit notes and a box of paperclips inside the filling cabinet and things won't get nasty.

    Yours,

I haven't seen the whole series yet, but so far, I think my worst would be Angel One.
Mind you, the entire first season could qualify as well (minus a few episodes like Datalore and Neutral Zone - and even Datalore is only good in that it introduces Lore).

Worst eps, eh? Well, let see...IMNSHO

    Encounter at Farpoint
    All Good Things...
    Casino Royal(?)
Justice (?) The one where Wes becomes dead man walking, almost.
Angel One-Was that the matriarchal society one.
    Oh and,
That one where the stellar fragment was going to destroy that coloney set up that genetically engineered group.

It's late, but those are the top five of my hate list. Given time I m sure there is one or two more.

I agree with Tobian. Nothing was worse than "Shades of Grey," though there were a lot that came real close, esp. in the first two seasons.

Heck, even some of the later shows were pretty meh.

But shooting Shades of Grey is like kicking an ugly chihuahua in the face, it's so ugly you can't bring yourself to do it because it's too easy.

Shades of Grey is probably the worst hour of TNG. Encounter at Farpoint is probably the worst two hours. Does that mean EaF is twice as bad as SoG? On second thought, who cares?

"Shades Of Grey" cuz its a clip show.

    Original show:

    "The Naked Now"

Can you say "repackaged re-run ?" Almost as bad as a clip show.

The first season. If Riker doesnt have a beard, odds on it sucks.
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

    Oh, I don't know qer...

First season was pretty bad, but at least they learned from their errors, and made less of them in sequential years and series...at least until Voyager...

The episode I really do like from TNG (besides the unoriginal ‘Shades of Grey’) is ‘Conspiracy’ (HEELLLOOO…this is STAR TREK not ALIENS…).

Second to this (third behind S.o.G. and ‘Con’) is ‘Skin of Evil’; in, not so much as it being a bad episode, I just think Armus should have been ‘played up’ as a LOT tougher. And I think that when a main character dies, one would hope it would be more heroically.
(But, then again, it did set up ONE HELL OF A RESURRECTION...of sorts...Not to mention one of the best 'PAIN IN THE ARSE' villains of all time)
...and that's about the time it hit the fan...

    Truisms I know:
    1) Marvel is NOT better than DC (nor should EVERYTHING be ‘ULTIMITED’),
    2) D20 is NOT the best gaming system out there (nor should EVERYTHING be ‘crammed’ into it),
    3) And No matter how ‘THEY’ dress it up, Regardless of how ‘THEY’ title it, and even if ‘THEY’ say “BASED ON…”; “ENTERPRISE” IS NOT STAR TREK!!!
    4) 'Reality' T.V. ain't 'Real'

    EaF

Gotta agree with Sarge on Encouter at Farpoint.

*gushing troi voice*... "Great Joy And Gratitude!"

A brave little theory, and actually quite coherent for a system of five or seven dimensions -- if only we lived in one.

As for Shades of Grey I do not recall that episode at all.
    Hey my opinion

Without Star Trek: The Original Series there would be no other Trek Series or Movies regardless of shows rewriting the Series past.

Oooh noooo - Tin man is one of my all time favourite episodes - one of the few I bought!

Thankfully your memories have spared you the anguish of having seen Shades of Grey
