    Romulan Sourcebook

    Hi

I was just wondering, after having seen "ST-Nemesis" again on DVD, if it wasn't time to check out the "new" Star Trek Roleplaying Game offered by Decipher. So I ordered the Narrator's Guide and am waiting for it's delivery.

Now coming to my real question: Is there any information about a coming-up Romulan supplement. I've always thought that the Romulans are an enigmatic enemy for my settings. And "Nemesis" opened up so much possibilities for any number of adventures in and around Romulan/Reman development. Would a sourcebook feature stuff inspired by "Nemesis"?

My players' ship operates on the Neutral Zone, and I've incorporated tons of stuff from Nemesis... We're about to start playing again, and although they don't know it, all their efforts from last season have payed off and a monumental Alpha-Beta quadrant peace treaty is going to be signed.... Of course there are those who are unhappy with that, which provides plently of room for intriuge and action galore.

But to answer your question, yeah I should hope a Romulan sourcebook would include Nemesis stuff. (BTW- you may want to pick up a Player's Guide too; it forms a more complete picture if you have it along with the NG)

So do I, but I didn't read about any upcoming Romulan sourcebook in the product calendar section (http://www.decipher.com/content/productcalendar.html).

Anyway, since you're running a game in the romulan demilitarized zone, do you have any information about the Taurhais ? They are mentioned in the Player's Guide chronology but no details are given: who are they ? what do they look like ?

I had a campaign running at least two years ago, that fell asleep somehow. I had my players stuck on the far side of the Romulan Star Empire (Due to some bad thinking during the adventure "passageway") and they finally discover what had kept the StarEmpire busy. The taurhai, that to my knowledge appeared first in the "Way of D'era" Romulan Box (by LUG)

I wanted to revive the campaign in the near future and was now wondering which set of rules to use.
I ordered NG before I realized, that it was a two volume set. But sadly my budget only allows for one book at a time. So I thought about getting into the new system with NG and then expanding if I like it.

I have read here in the forum somewhere that Dave Biggins had his hands in creation of the Starships book of the new series, so this one jumps to first place of the wanted-list, because I liked the adventure stuff he produced for ICON System and I'm very interested in multiple starship designs. Have you picked up a copy yourself? What are your oppinions on it?

But knowing myself, I'll be picking up a PG as well as soon as income permits. Or even before...

I personally didn't like the way the Romulans were used in "Nemesis". One would think they would struggle more againt the remans overtaking their Empire.
Anyway I've still to decide when to set the game and what to incorporate.

As I said above the taurhai appeared in "The Way of D'era". That's LUG's Romulan boxed set. The taurhai kept the empire busy during the time between the movies and the the TNG episode "The Neutral Zone", therefore explaing their being-away for so long. The Romulans had found a species that they couldn't conquer on-the-way.
It's been a while since I had the time to look into the box, so I don't exactly remember much about the discription of the turhai.

I don't know if the box-set is still available somehow, but if you are playing a romulan campaign you might want to try to get your hands on one of the boxes left out there.

    mmmm pretty starships

The starships book is pretty skinking cool. I like it a lot. It has all sorts of starships from federation in the time of the NX-01 to the latest Jem Hadar Battle Cruiser.

I have all the books, and I would rank them in order of importance as such:

    1. PG + NG (you need both to actually play)
    2. Aliens
    3. Starships
    4. SF Ops Manual
    5. Creatures
