This is a test page for one of my NPCs.

Great write-up, I'd be really interested in a background description. The picture is tops as well! Except that it looks like she's crossing her legs for some reason... don't know why. But she looks proud, just like her flaw says she should be, and she also reflects the efficiency of her stats.

Question 1: Why don't Armed Combat and Ranged Combat have skill groups selected like they should? You may have forgotten, or you may just not be selecting groups, which is actually fine since she's a NPC and you don't need that level of detail. (also, why aren't there skill specialties for skills like Persuade and Observe? I'm guessing the answer is probably the same)

Question 2: Are the skills, such as Armed Combat, the ranks alone or do they include attributes and edges?

the art is fantastic IMHO. It was done by one of player's GFs. She has an Elfwood site here...

Simple answer. I forgot or should I say didn't realize they needed them. The whole Group/Speciality thing really confuses the hell out of me to some degree.

Nope those are just the ranks.

    why?

I think they were curious if you were going to do your stats like Decipher presents them in the books. And since you are, that would tend to reduce any confusion (IMO).

Looks great, Aslan. Although you dropped the "d" in "Favoured" at the bottom of the page...

I noticed the "d' right away and forgot to change it, thanks for pointing it out.

How do you mean about the way they are done in the book? I was trying to make them look like Belengol, Gror, Menelcar, etc all look. Am I wrong?

    Sorry just a tad confused.

    But then that happens often

I just looked at it again. Her right leg is crossed infront of her left one, but her right foot is pointing to the right, so due to the colour of her boots it makes it confusing. I hadn't noticed at first, but then you pointed it out, so I took a good hard look

I mean that, in the Core Book as well as the Fellowship and Two Towers Sourcebooks, Skills are listed by ranks only, no other modifiers. Since you did the same thing with your example, there's a certain level of consistency with the published materials. No "now the book does it this way, but Aslan adds in..." to confuse the issue.

Hey does that mean they are listed with the bonuses in Fell Beasts? Or are they just the ranks as well?

    Speaking of confusing issues

All Decipher products list skills with just ranks. I was just listing those that provided stats for individuals instead of whole races.

Thanks for clearing that up. Man those Uruks were not as tough as they could have been on Friday. Have to keep that in mind next time

Aslan, I must say I really look forward to your site opening up if it hsa the quality of the few tid-bits you have shown thus far. Keep it up.

I also look forward to hearing your plotline and adventure set-up.

    I concur!

(oh, and Mark, did you check out this thread? It has a lot of Aslan's thoughts about his chronicle, so if you want to hear some of the plotline... I think it should be there. Or you may have seen it already and want more!)

    thanks very much Markraven

It is a slow process for me my webpages, and as I am now learning Dreamweaver it may be a bit slower

Still I am really enjoying the bits of work I get to do on it from time to time.
