    Talking Xindi Profile

    The Xindi’s

The Xindi can be called a coalition of races only the loosest of senses. Formed into city states and nation states that suffer periodic squabbles and occasional brushfire wars, it was the coming of the tales of the Xindi’s destruction that managed to give the ruling body, referred to as the Sanctum, any really true control and ability to direct the multiple-species compact in a remotely constructive manner.

    Species:
Xindi-Primates: Currently lead in the Sanctum by Degra and his aide Mallora. The Primate race has mostly ruled Homeworld during the rather long and torturous history of Xindi and appears to have a hereditary rulership, as Degra inherited his position from his father. The Primates are noted for their higher intelligence and perchant for cool calculation, which has made them effective rulers of Homeworld for some time.

Xindi-Reptillian: Currently lead in the Sanctum by Guruk. Large, strong, and aggressive, these Xindi tend to be the shock-troops of the Coalition, as their robust frames and constitutions allow for long periods of strenuous activity and the wearing for energy dispersion armor. They are known to be somewhat ritual-ridden, and it was mentioned that the Attacker on earth’s family received a impressive send off by the Xindi-Reptilians as well as the Insectiods.

Xindi-Insectoids: Currently lead in the Sanctum by Sheresht. Noted for their shorter lifespan and decidedly manic behavior, the Xindi-Insectoids are the most vociferous and populous part of the coalition, and potentially the most unstable, as they tend to be on the side of paranoia when dealing with any potential threat

Xindi-Marsupials: Currently Lead in the Sanctum by Narsanyala. While more than willing to destroy Earth to save their species, they are somewhat reluctant about the entire idea in general and are not given over to aggressive behavior. To put it in terms from Degra “They rather be sleeping in trees than saving homeworld.” In spite of this, the marsupials appear to be a political class on Homeworld, and can fight if push comes to shove.

Xindi-Sealions (sorry. couldn’t think of anything else for a name.) Currently lead in the Sanctum by Qoh and Qam. Only joining the coalition after the other four races started polluting the homeworld’s oceans, the species runs on the concept of true equality and consensus, a concept foreign to the rest of the coalition.
A brave little theory, and actually quite coherent for a system of five or seven dimensions -- if only we lived in one.

They remind me of Manitees. Are the names used from the series?

By the way, thanks for posting that write up Bouncy Caitian. I've been looking all over for such info on the Xindi as I'm a huge fan of the race(s) and haven't had much luck finding anything about them.
    Thanks again!

From what I read somewhere (forget where, unfortunately) and from appearances, the aquatic type are based on belugas. The beluga is a type of whale found in the North Atlantic and commonly seen in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the St. Lawrence River.
