    [SS] Dauntless Class Fast Cruiser

Well there hasn't been a new ship design put up for a bit so I thought I'd throw one together and see what happens. The dauntless is the "fake" starship supposedly sent to rendevous with voyager. Comments are always welcome.

When the holographic doctor from the USS Voyager sent back voyager’s logs in 2374 included among them was all the data that had been gathered about the fake federation vessel USS Dauntless. ASDB was intrigued about the possibility of a slip stream drive capable vessel and began working on the feasibility of such a vessel. A year later they were given the go ahead to build a prototype vessel to test the slip stream drive. It took 2 years to build the ship as it’s spaceframe was highly unusual. 2377 saw the launch of the NX Dauntless. ASDB tried for 3 years to get the slip stream drive to function properly. Like transwarp centuries ago, they simply could not make it work. So like the Excelsior a standard warp drive was installed. The ship along with the Prometheus is the most advanced ship in Starfleet. It has holographic emitters scattered throughout the ship and fields a holographic prototype. With all the data brought back with voyager, Dr. Zimmerman created the Emergency Engineering Hologram (EEH). Along with the EMH Mk. 2 Long duration medical hologram, the ship is highly automated requiring a crew of only 38. The ship also incorporates improved replicators. Voyager brought back with them specifications for molecular synthesis, a technology that allows replication at the molecular level.
The advanced warp drive is very reliable but very delicate, requiring constant monitoring by the engineering staff.

Flaw Note: Intricate system is taken from Killer Whale’s expanded starships supplement.

    Thumbs up

I haven't posted in while, feels weird!

that being said, VERY nice work.

    Thanks, it's an interesting ship.

Nice design, IG. If I get some time in the next week or so, I'll try to put some stats together for a few Q-ships for Dan G. to chew on.

It's a very nice design, but my only crisicism would be that the Dauntless DID have a functional Quantum slipstream drive; The type that's 5 times fatser than borg cubes ) (without KW's handy TW hub) The LF50-Mod - isn't nearly fast enough to cover the 9.99999 (note 5 9's there) that the ship can get too.

I also seem to recall the technology the ship had was known as particle synthesis, but that's just a minor nit (because i just 'know' these things )
