    Can I ask the status?
Uncertain. I'd like to find the original pdf that had the backrounds I made in Indesign, as my own copy of the file seems to be AWOL (I have an idea of where it may be, but I don't know where that is; trust me, it makes sense). Lacking that, all I'd need would be the style/formatting notes (either from steve or someone else that worked on an SRM) and time to fix it all. I have the revised post-playtest version of the text, it just needs to go throught the shiny-maker.

I don't know if Steve Long's got more SRM texts floating around, after that.

To the best of my knowledge "nothing even close to the proof reading stage".

The credits page in the doc I have has redline additions that list about two dozen proofers/playtesters (as it appears). The email seemed to imply that it was, in fact, the finished text.

Seriously, though, does anyone out there have the actual formatting guidelines for Spacedock writeups?

I'm going to give up on the old file and restart.
Don't know how long it'll take me, but hopefully I'll have it done by the end of the summer.

Next Question: who's hosting it when I'm done? Trek-RPG.net? Memory Icon?

I'm not sure if this has been tried yet, but I still talk with Steve from time to time. I'll try to see if he has anything of use. Just give me a few days...

Next Question: who's hosting it when I'm done? Trek-RPG.net? Memory Icon?

So far as I know, we both have permission from Steve to host it. When TrerkRPG closed down, all content was transferred to Memory:ICON (including, explicitly, permission for the upcoming SRM), and when it re-opened We worked out a deal to mirror everything on both sites. So far as I know, nothing has occurred to change that situation.

Alright, I'll send it both places when I'm done.

Phoenix, f Steve does reply, can you tell him to drop me a line at the email on my profile here?

As an aside, I don't think the Nemesis ships are in there–at least, I'm not aware of what Steve's named the warbird class, and 'Valdore' doesn't show up in any searches.

EDIT: Ohhh wait, you meant in repsonse to other SRMs?

EDIT 2: I just realized this project is five years old : |

I'll do that, but there are no guarantees he'll do it.

The Nemesis ships are not in the SRM

You are correct, I guess context would have helped.

BRILLIANT! (Yeah, this has been going for a while now)

    Hi,

Perhaps we should try to get a 'preliminary' version out, so that at least those people that have been putting campaigns on hold because they're waiting for the Rom SMR can continue. After that we can wait/work on the complete perfect laid out version, after that we can add the Nemesis as appendix and then another complete version.
Also the prelimibary version will ofcourse result in minor corrections that can be immediatly incorporated in the final version.

The difference between the preliminary version and the perfectly-laid-out one would be about a day. The bulk of the work is applying the standardized text formats to the templates so that what's what is clear, and making sure everything fits in its space without gaps or cutoffs, which is basic readability stuff.

UPDATE: I emailed Lancer and he was kind enough to provide me with the file I was looking for.

Now all I need is the fonts. Anyone have a spare set of Futura Condensed kicking around?

Crisis averted... i found some on another comp.

Next update when something interesting happens, or maybe when I have something cool to eat or whatever. I had some dumplings earlier, they were pretty good.

Let's just say I'm hoping to beat the next Decipher release...

I could really use some more dumplings right now. Ooh, though, I had some really nice homemade curry tonight...
