Mechanica outside the CORE RPG book?

Are there any skills, traits, edges, etc. outside the Core RPG book?

Sure, there are tons of homemade materials for the LOTR RPG. Check out the archives on this very site, as well as Valinor (http://sauron.misled.us).

There are others, but those two should be a good start.

Each of the Decipher books has introduced a few new elements to character options, I believe.

The FotR Sourcebook introduces some new spins on Magicians Staff in the writeups of Gandalf and Saruman, and I believe the TT Sourcebook does the same. Moria's Dwarf book includes copious new rules for Dwarves, including new racial packages, sub-races of Dwarves, new elite orders, with attendant traits and edges.

Fell Beasts has a Ally of the Mark edge, and the new Staff of Power abilities for Wizards as mentioned above.

I'm in the playtest for the other books, and can assure you that each of the books I've seen has more such materials, especially the order books.

I think he is refering to the normal Ally edge with (Riddermark) as the designated ally. If I'm thinking of the same thing it's under the description of the Heir's Ring on page 87.
