Here's part of an article on IGN.com from Peter Jackson's side of the story. Interesting to read.

Well, the "fate of Saruman" scene is going to be on The Return of the King Extended Edition, so that's great.
AFAIC, he made his mark in filmmaking history, bringing THE classic epic fantasy literature alive on the big screen. He will be remembered by this generation as the villain Saruman.
Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

He'll always been Dracula to me.

I'm talking about the kids of this generation, the same kids who like Richard Harris as Professor Dumbledore, rather than The Man Called Horse or King Arthur in the movie musical, Camelot.
To us oldtimers, Christopher Lee is definitely Dracula (only second to Bela Lugosi).

You don't think he'll be better known as Count Dooku?
Me, personally, thinks the less remembered about the SW prequels the better, but I wonder.

But I'm just 27 so not that far older than "this generation".
And he's still Count Dracula to me. But then I like Hammer House Horror (Dr Phibes anyone?) - have done since I was about 12.

Although I am grateful to the prequels for one thing.
When describing Mort City in my SLA Industries campaigns I do explain to my players that it's like Coruscant (mixed with New York from 5th Element and LA from Blade Runner) only its permanantly raining and a lot more grimy.
Oh and with cannibal families, mutated pigs, insane war veterens, gangs of rampaging serial killers, terrorists, manchines and crazy contract killers roaming the lowest levels.
But I just skim past the last bit.

Yes. I know.Originally posted by Owen E Oulton

The Abominable Dr. Phibes was Vincent Price.
I was referring to Hammer House films in general.
Not just the Christopher Lee ones.
I picked on Dr Phibes as they're my two favourite Hammer films.
