    Character Advancement - Assistance Required

    Greetings Fellow Trekkers,

I find myself in a position where I require some assistance in creating/advancing characters for an adventure I'm putting together for my group down the line. It's based off of one of The Next Generation novels: Crossover by Michael Jan Friedman set not long before the events of Generations and features three Original Series characters; Ambassador Spock - aged 140, Admiral Leonard McCoy - aged 143, and Captain Montgomery Scott - aged 75.

The Narrator's Guide provides stats for Spock and McCoy that need just over a century of advancing, whilst Scotty requires creation first. I thought I'd take it easy and ask for your assistance one character at a time, starting with McCoy.

So far I Know he needs Promotion +2 for him to reach the actual rank of Admiral, but beyond that I'm at a bit of a loss. (It proably doesn't help that I've been up 24 Hours straight!)

If I could have some help or suggestions, it would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks.

The first question you should ask yourself is: do you even need to stat these characters at all? Spock, McCoy and Scotty are all serious legends, and unless your PCs are at the same level, the NPCs will seriously imbalance the game and make the PCs effectively irrelevant.

If the legends are there for flavor, you should have no need to stat them up.

If you are just using them for flavor, develop them with the same stuff you find in the NPC's in the back of the NG: reactions and a few key skills.
