Favored Weapon Ability

If a character picks Favored Weapon as Order ability at character creation, would that allow him to breach the +6 maximum skill level rule? If so, a character would effectively have +12 in his favored weapon at character creation which I'm not particularly inclined to allow.

I'm thinking that Favored Weapon only applies when the character is advancing. It does not apply during character creation.

No matter what order abilities or edges you have, the maximum skill ranks in any skill at character generation is +6. Favoured Weapon allows you to advance the skill faster, but only during advancements.

So, yes, it only applies for advancing characters.

In my opinion, the char in question would spend 3 pts to have the maximum. That's all.
