I assume you mean the Nebula-class mission pods? Well, I don't have my copy of Starships handy, but I'm fairly certain the pods would be considered part of the space allotment for the ship as whole, not an add-on. I'll double-check in the next ciouple days when my power comes back on...

Finally got a chance to check out Starships and see what it has to say on the pods. The pods are 22 space that can be used to upgrade or replace existing systems. The stats given (page 68) include the base ship (no pod) and the Tactical Pod variant. The description on page 70 also provides details on Cargo, Probe, and Sensor pods.![]()
