    You want speculations?

Try this instead. It is an answer of the Decipher customer service, therefore as official as it can be, and it makes the future look a little bit brighter, at least for us gamers.

    Talking

Wow, that makes me feel alot better about this situation. Although it will take some time for the dust to settle, at least we got an answer from someone on the inside who can help us end the speculation. Thanks Ergi for pointing this thread out to me. Have a great Super Bowl Sunday

Thanks, but over here in Europe the Super Bowl hype is pretty much nonexistent, however, if I should happen to be awake between 12 PM and 4 AM...
Anyway, I hope you'll have a nice evening.

That's okay. The World Bowl hype is pretty much nonexistent in the US.

And just to prove the point it is called Wolrd Cup, not World Bowl

    Thumbs down

Sorry, removed my comments as they we not part of the "what do we call our sporting events" thread, which has clearly hijacked the point of this thread which I thought was "Decipher news". Now back to your regularly scheduled tangent.

Actually, he might be referring to the World Bowl, the championship game of the NFL-Europe League.

    Cool

    NFL established a European League?

P.S. Is the Frankfurt Galaxy team still there?

    Was there a London team?

    Also anyone remember the USFL?

Yes, but only because the Michigan Panthers won its very first championship.

It started as the World League of American Football (WLAF) then got changed to NFL Europe.

The London Monarchs were one of the first WLAF teams (and won a World Bowl IIRC). The Scotland Claymores are one of the current six teams, and have been successful as well.

Yeah, I remember the USFL...I was surprised the league actually survived as long as it did. (Actually had 18 teams at one point.)

NFLE has six teams: Frankfurt Galaxy, Amsterdam Admirals, Rhein Fire, Scottish Claymores, Berlin Thunder and Cologne Centurions

Cologne replaced FC Barcelona (league suspended team operations in October) this season.

The original WLAF had European and North American teams, but was shut down after two seasons (91-92). The league was restarted as an all-European developmental league in '95 (with the current roster of teams, with Barcelona, instead of Cologne, of course), and has been playing since.
