    Xangraves, I remember reading that, too. I think it was in the novel The Final Reflection.

    Correct it was mentioned in "Final Reflection" The Federation had just demonstrated to the visiting Klingons the use of a transporter showing that they were on the cutting edge of technology, at which point the Klingons beamed back to their ship, showing they already had them installed on their ships. all of this taking place while McCoy was still in diapers.
