It's not just Don who worked on the book you know!

Ah...I don't believe at any point that I credited him as the sole author of any of those works.

If it was a crime of omission not to pass on congratulations to the co-authors of the games as well, mea culpa.

Proceeding onward with our regularly scheduled program...

Those unsold copies are probably found in distributors' warehouses. But AFAIK, Wizards is not printing anymore. So, if it rounds out of the warehouses and wholesale, then that is it.

I'd think that if Chaosium wanted to reprint more core books, they'd just do the WOTC license thing again. If they did it themselves, they'd have to leave out the character generation rules as per the d20 licenses.
I wish it were true, but since the contract expired, Wizards have shut down the CoC d20 home page and removed the MB forum from their web site.

While they could make CoC d20 a d20-labeled product, Chaosium can make OGL CoC so it CAN be a standalone product complete with its own character creation instructions. They just need qualified d20 designers. (Hire Monte Cook?)

I know there are others including the creators of the Spycraft engine (Kapera, Gearin, & Wilson) and Rodney "Moridin" Thompson (webmaster of SWRPGNetwork and co-author of Star Wars Hero's Guide).

Although I believe Don stated he only wrote the fluff material, since he has a near-perfect encyclopedic knowledge of the show. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Personally...I like CODA better for Trek. It's 3.5 without the hassle of all the crap that comes along with d20. and you can tailor it how you wish.
A brave little theory, and actually quite coherent for a system of five or seven dimensions -- if only we lived in one.

To each his or her own. My group and I are too comfortable with Icon for now.

Personally, I like them both equally well. One's not better than the other...they're just two different ways of doing the same thing.

It should be mentioned that Chaosium has been steadily releasing reprints of older Call of Cthulhu material since the d20 version's release, in addition to the GM's pack.

These have been low-key releases, often without much fanfare, but I believe that they have done almost a half-dozen or so books in this manner. Off the top of my head, I can think of: Arkham, Dunwich, Kingsport, and their upcoming Dreamlands and Shadows of Yog Sothoth reissues. Plus there are the affiliated Nocturnum CoC d20 books.

Unfortunately, I don't know that retailers have been quick to order and stock these reprints, despite their new content, if the original is still on the shelf.

I've already spoken to tonyg privately but he's due a public apology and this is it: I really overreacted (twice in one day, in fact) and apologize for doing so. It was bad form. I won't tender an excuse because that really doesn't make up for being an ass.

With that said, I dislike editing out comments so I'll leave the tirade as-is as a poster child of how not to conduct oneself. To those that gave me the benefit of the doubt (or cleverly tried to change the subject ), my thanks.

I've never claimed sole credit in any venue. Stargate, much like my Trek work, was a team effort. I did write nearly 1/3rd of that book, however, as well as consulted on the outline for the book's contents and even the screen captures. I have the utmost respect for the other authors. I've no doubt that Rodney, et.al. are excited as well. He's probably trumpeting the success of the book on his site too.

So, I guess my question is: what's the problem? This is now two threads taking shots at me. Drop me a line.

Correct, plus some other sections. The first four (?) chapters are nearly (99%) entirely mine. Lots of equipment descriptions and SG team stuff as well. For that project AEG segmented us into "story" and "mechanics" teams, each focusing on their respective areas.

Again, very much a team effort.

    Lightbulb Back on topic...

You know, I came up with an idea this morning on helping to perhaps save or jumpstart the RPG line. It might take me some time to put together but it's worth a shot. Unfortunately I wish I had thought of this sooner.

More news as I have it.

Tres intruiging! Looking forward to seeing what this is and what it might entail.
