    Episode I: Reconstruction

    Starbase 105 -- Admiral's Briefing Room -- 0500 Hours

All PC's are here, aside from the Ferengi.

Admiral jack Duffy: "Welcome, I decided that it would be best to give y'all a few days rest, in an effort to make you more relaxed. But. now it is time for the mission briefing so that you all know exactly what you are doing. The people around you are the senior staff, minus the Klingons, of starbase 113. Starbase 113 is based in the Pheben system, and this base will be a joint command with the Klingon Empire. I am honestly not sure how much support the Empire's government will send you as far as manpower, but I would not be surprised if it wasn't essentially nonexistant aside fromt he Klingons that are present at this starbase now. Speaking of which does anyone know where they are?... I would like all of you to board the USS Solstice at 0545."

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright guys, so it begins, I would like your characters to introduce themselves, and a way for me to make sure I know exactly who is playing.

Here are some administrative things to clear up. You all will be rolling your own dice and posting the result at the message board. Please list everything though. i.e. (Roll #1 + Roll #2 + Skill + Specialty + Miscellaneous Modifiers=Total)

I will send you the results of the rolls by Private Message, so I ask that you enable that in your User Control Panel.

Grudgingly, Lumok handed the Yridian over the bulk of what was left of his personal fortune for the passage to the station. He had considered just killing him, but thought better about it when he discovered the extent of the security systems protecting the shuttle; he wouldn't have been able to hack his way in fast enough before the life support turned off and he suffocated and/or froze to death.

Hefting what he had for belongings to his shoulder, Lumok departed the docking port and headed to the station's merchant center or promenade, keeping an eye out for an easy mark's purse to pull while keeping the other out for station security.

    Observe (Spot) - (5+1) + 5 + (1 or 2 for Enterprise: Streetwise to identify an easy mark) = 12/13

    Observe (Spot) - (4+2) + 5 = 11

Narrator: Lumok as you enter the station you notice that it is running on emergency power, and only halfway at that. The corridors are empty, and only about half the emergency lights are functioning. Those rumors that you heard about a prosperous business opportunity are false. The station is battered and torn, the Klingons when they left the station left it quite a mess. Bulkheads are laying on the floor aswell as scrap metal that have fallen around from the station.

What you think is the promenade is in very poor condition, although all the "stores" are vacant.

Almost kicking himself for not taking his opportunity with the Yridian, Lumok has himself a thought. "Quiet as a tomb; no one is here." The thought brings a feral smile to his face. "Salvage rights!" he exclaims. The Federation personnel who were rumored to be running this place haven't arrived yet apparently so he decided to clean the place out, er, clean the place up for them before they arrive. Pulling out his disruptor pistol and tricorder, he gets to work ransacking the business area.

    (which skills should I roll?)

Narrator: You see a two computer terminals that can be accessed in the main area, also one replicator is in sight. The "stores" are wide open although the doors are shut. They must be manually opened.

Deciding to leave the computer terminals for later, Lumok begins poking around individual shops for things that can easily be boosted.

As you walk in from the airport, the closest shop to you is to the left. Continueing around the promenade you can see one very large establishment on the right, and a few smaller shops to the left.

Lumok scans the closest shop for any security systems with his tricorder. If it is clear, he enters the establishment.

None that you can see with the tricorder, although since no power is going into the shop from the station, it is more difficult to detect quality security systems without power.

Gripping his disruptor a little tighter, he enters the shop ready for anything.

As you enter there is nothing moving, and no sounds. The room is quite a bit warmer then the corridor of the promenade.

Nothing of any interest is found along the promenade, the Klingons seemingly left in a hurry, and the station was all but destroyed.
A bit depressed at not finding anything that he could readily pocket, he goes to one of the computer terminals and, with the assistance of his tricorder, attempts to determine exactly what the former owners left on this station.

  13. Aitrus hefted the duffel onto his shoulder and walked off the small shuttle, through the airlock, and into the docking transverse. Can't believe that they still don't have a full crew here, he thought, even though he was one of the crew himself.

Sighing, he turned to the right, and realized that he had no idea where he was going. "Way to make a first impression," he thought, and asked a computer which way it was to the crew quarters. After getting the information, and then going and dropping his few belongings there, he made his way to the promenade.

Getting there, he almost wished he hadn't. It was mostly barren, except for a few people walking around trying to salvage what they could. So far as he could tell, he was the only Starfleet officer there. Guess I got here a bit early, then, he thought, and started to wade through the mess.

Internal scans are pretty fuzzy, there seems to be only one other life form on board, and you are not sure what it is.

It is a complete mess, bulkheads are down, scrap metal is lying on the floor, and the lights are flickering all over the station.

Not really skilled in this area, Lumok decides he'd better leave his present position. Figuring that if the other lifeform is here for a similar reason as him, he has a better chance at ripping off stuff somewhere else, like the decks with personnel quarters. "He can have whatever he likes here, but I will get my share," he thinks and runs off in the direction of the nearest lift access that works.
