The only problem with a Romulan series is: which Romulans? It is a really interesting question. I really like the Rihannsu, but the LUG Romulans have definite advantages also, as do several ideas of my own, which I know Paramount will never use, since they have never seen them.

We could probably start a whole thread on the Romulans. I won't start it, but if someone else wants to, I can be as long-winded as usual on the subject....

For me it would have to be the LUG based Romulans, the Rihannsu concept has never really sat well with me. I have tried to read the Romulan Way the novel that started the Rihannsu movement and a couple of others. The feeling I get from them is that they are trying to "Elfify" the Romulans. The way LUG presented them is more to the way I picture the Romulans, I believe in the Praetor as the head of the government not an Empress!?!? Where did they come up with that anyway?

Albeit I have not read alot on the subject of the Rihannsu, if someone could suggest a good representative novel I will try it. I will suggest the two part mini-series "Maximum Warp", pretty good storyline, it encompasses pretty much the whole of the ST universe, and the Romulans are presented close to what they were in the series. Also, the Romulan thread is rather interesting, anyone else interested?

    Don't forget the StarLiner Enterprise!

Okay if the followup report is right, then the 'proper' casting sheet has been out for weeks now.

Thats some security compared to earlier series/movies!

Ya Know, When DS9 came out, there had been a statement that the other idea they might have gone with was Star trek: The Klingon Empire. That i would like to see particulaly now with the current state of affairs after the war.

Personally, I think the Kligons have been done to death. You can only do so much head butting...I would like to see something a little different, with the Romulans or Cardassians you can have a lot more intrigue based stories then with the Kligons. Sure, the Kligons have their court intrigue, but it only lasts for about five minutes before they play their hand. The whole Durass arc is a good example. Even a Romulan couldn't make it work, now that's bad.

Yeah. I like the Klingons, and a few of my friends are near-fanatical about them, but the Trek serieses have already done a lot with them. I'd prefer something that's been explored less, like the Romulans (whom I admit are my favourite group) or some group(s) that have been mentioned in the series but not really explored, like the Gorn.

What about the rumor that Picard was going to revealed to be a Romulan in Star Trek: Insurrection?

Nice to see this has been exposed as the fluff I felt it had to be...

No offense to anyone, but that new Trek series info has been established to be fake. There is a thread on it on this website, which contains a link to the Section 31 site. Section 31 definitively debunks it. Thank all the Gods.....
