Well if the call sheets for TNG and DS9 are any indication Then I would have to say things will change. The Idea of getting as much out of Vulcans and Humans is troublesome Idea I would rather have seen an Andorian or some other race.

    But wait and see.

I'd bet a fairly large sum on that material being entirely bogus.

I'm not saying it didn't come from Paramount, either. Back when DALLAS was a hot late-night soap, they filmed entire fake scenes when the press was looking, just to throw people off the scent on the J.R. and Bobby Ewing shootings.

This thing stinks like a fake in so many ways I lose count halfway down the page.

If true my problem is that they have rewritten the established history of the Enterprise series of ships, from the old schooner, WWII aircraft carrier (also modern carrier), shuttle to Constitution-class. I think that with the DS9 and Voyager series it has been proven you can have Trek without the Enterprise. In my opinion, if they do come up with another series it should be on another vessel, instead of another Enterprise.

If they want it on the Enterprise then use A (with a new crew), B or C (be it however limited). Although my vote still goes with a Captain Sulu series. Just my 2 credits worth.

    Question

Did anyone else notice the following?

    Admiral Forrest=DeForrest Kelley
    Admiral Leonard=Leonard Nimoy

I might be crazy, but I see these as homages.

I sure hope this article is fake.

I guess that would make Commander Williams = William Shatner, eh?

Cute in joke, but I rather suspect someone's pulling everyone's leg...

And let's not ignore the Vulcan aide, "TOS."

    Exclamation Next series ?

    http://www.trektoday.com/news/040301_01.shtml

Read it. Tell me what you think.

I think they only have to make sure, that this time they choose writers, who
    a) want to write Star Trek
    b) have the balls to write some meaty stories, instead of that superficial fluff Voyager keeps throwing at us.

The idea is so-so, I just don't quite understand the reasoning behind it.
That is, if it is true!

Actually these sound like very interesting characters, very much what could have been expected if Roddenberry was casting the original series in 2001. I like the details about the doctor and the "white-knuckle" comm officer. Lots of variety and good characterization.

If the Enterprise was launched in 2244 and Kirk didn't assume command that leaves five years unaccounted for. But screw the cannon, give me a new Trek series.

Yes . . . canon be damned . . . however, continuality be sacred. If it makes for better story, run with it. But I'm sorry, is it just me or are we going backwards? I mean besides literaly.

In a time and age when stereotypes were all that existen on the TV for non Caucasion Charactors, Star Trek went leeps and bounds to show that we all are human, and all in the end have similar passions and desires. But here, it's far more "white wash" then any Star Trek episode has been for a while. What happened to the Star Trek that I knew that challenge socially accepted stereostypes (Save the Obedient Asian Ensign Kim on ST:VOY)?

Look at we, the Star Trek community and the creators of it have produced, the first ever interracial kiss, the first Black Main Charactors in nonRace or Sex directed series, and many other accomplishments in race relations.

I read what there was to read, and I'm appolled. I will agree that this is most likely bogus, and I prey that it is so. It isn't consistant of Star Trek continuality, I mean even they don't like contridiction that much.

Truthfully, I like the idea of a Enterprise-B series . . . not much is written on her voyages and contributions to the Star Trek Universe. Captain April was interesting . . . and the development of his character and Demora Sulu (Later ends up being a Patron of Jecote (sp)).

And a story about the USS Excelsior and Captain Sulu would be a dream come true . . . but he's getting old, and is he willing to do it? Furthermore, wouldn't it fall in the same era as a Enterprise-B series fall into? Or maybe one or the other can meet everyonce and a while :-D

How about a series based on a new colony? What do you think?

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but give me a frickin' break! This is obviously a scam, a deliberate misinformation campaign designed to throw everyone off track regarding the development of the new series.

Admirals Leonard and Forrest? TOS, the Vulcan aide? Come on, guys.

The latest information that I've heard is that Captain Sulu's Adventures may be back in the running. 'course that is just a rumor, but I've heard it from a couple of different sources.

Regardless, I have the distinct feeling that there's been some leg-pulling going on 'round these parts as of late.

    mactavish out.

P.S. Don't you think that the Admiral Leonard character might be a homage to Mark Lenard (a.k.a. Sarek), another "fallen" Star Trek comrade, as it were?
