    Travel Pod

    POWER SYSTEMS

    Fusion Batteries
    SU Cost
    : 1 SU per battery
    Power Cost: None

Many support craft that vessels rely on are too small to utilize the standard power production systems. These support craft must depend upon fusion batteries to provide power for their operation. Each fusion battery occupies 1 SU and generates 2 points of power per round.

Note: Needed a smaller power supply system. Aid and comments very welcome on both the new system and the data sheet.

Edited to remove datasheet. See below for updated sheet.

    Thank you Mr. Foam
Now for the constructive portion of our commentary
    1) The new System: Fusion Batteries, exellent idea that looks well written.
    2) The Data Sheet: Why a type B SIF, I don't think these little beasts make any hard turns. I think you could remove the Impulse drive, on screen evidence doen't seem support it, you only really need the Reaction Control Systems. Lateral sensors, left off intentionally or accidentally but really need to be added. If you would like to save a few SU's you could mostlikely remove the security systems given the limited role the vessel would have, basicly a free flying turbo lift.

ALRIGHT! Now we can pit the Pod vs a Borg Cube! WOOHOOO!!!
    I thought that was funny.

Thanks. I had my doubts, glad to hear someone likes it.

I have been working on this for a few days now so I don't remember exactly. . .but I believe I was thinking a small craft zipping around a busy starport, starbase or shipyard may need to make some serious moves to avoid other ships/craft on occasion. I do remember I went back and forth between a less powerful unit and the Type B. Suggestions are very welcome.

D'oh! That was the reason I came up with the Fusion Batteries, so I could remove the Impulse Drive. Sorry, my bad.

    Oops. Sorry, my bad.

Hum. I never thought about it. I guess security systems are a bit of overkill.

    Any other ideas? Anyone?

    Power Question. . .

Did I give the pod enough power? Too much power? I am never really sure how much power to allow a ship/craft. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Your power looks fine, other than the items I mentioned earlyer, everything checks out. Print and play redwood, print and play.

Ok if your unsure on how much power to give a design, simply add all the power requirements togeather at their normal operating capasity. If you feel the design should be over powered (Defiant) or under powered (DS9 Maranda) then add or subtract 5-15% to the total power allotment.
