I have thrown up the UFP symbol for the webpage on the UFP Security Council page. Take a look, some of the old school might be pleasently surprised.

Exactly one of my reasionings. The most common gripe I have heard from players about Trek is "Why is it always Kirk (or Picard)? Why is it always the Enterprise?" Well I figured a way around both of those, but managed to keep the flavour and feel and still have the old Enterprise have her fame.

Loved New Frontiers up to the talking Mugato. That was just silly.

It's my biggest gripe with the SW franchise, though it has lessened over the years. Luke and co. are always center stage...yes they are the heros of the main story...BUT THERE IS A WHOLE UNIVERSE OUT THERE! Trek could use a little thinking outside the Enterprise box. I mean why have a Reputation stat for a ship, if Enterprise is the glory hog?

    UPDATE * UPDATE * UPDATE

Okay so after a disasterous attempt to get female photomanips in the movie gen style, I have decided to use the First Contact unis for my game. Makes image getting that much more simple.

I shall miss the maroons, but as we say on earth, C'est la vie.

Also, with no small thanks to Owen, I have managed to make a rough map of the Ultimate Star Trek Alpha Quadrant.

First off it is based on this galactic model from NASA.

Also I have decided that there is no Quadrant divider going through the middle of the UFP, the Beta Quarant is sort Coreward from the Klingons and that is that. therefor Sector 001 still refers to Earth, but not in relation to the Quadrants.

Here is a thumb of the map, click on it to see a bigger verion.

Comments welcome and again big thanks to Owen

Also if anyone has any ideas for naming the Antispinward frontier between the Cardassians and the Sheliak, I am open to suggestions

Leeward is a good name for the "anti-spinward" region. It fits for the mechanic (leeward is a nautical term for the opposite direction from the wind).

And the Gorn are back where they're supposed to be on the map.

Funnily enough I had though of using the term leeward for the antispinward, but it seemed a bit too nautical for me... But screw it! I'm using it That said it still doesn't help me name that frontier.

Yeah the Gorns should always be next to the Romulans

That's a really nice redraw of the original map. Also nice to see someone else using the Triangle.

If you're interested, my re-drawn Triangle map can be found here (but be warned, it's quite big) The Triangle.

This version isn't fully labelled, but somewhere I do have a fully-labelled one. Also I've also labelled the stars with the system name, instead of a single planet name (as in the original map) because I thought it was a bit more 'authentic'.

Y'know I can't honestly remember. I started developing it for an on-off rogues campaign I run.

You'll also notice I added a couple nebulas, one of which is the Azure nebula (from Flashback). A neat way for smugglers to sneak into the Klingon Empire.

I've always preferred the Traveller term "trailing" for antispinward. The six directions I use are:

    Spinward
    Trailing
    Rimward
    Coreward
    Zenith
    Nadir

I'll also add a voice to those for whom the Triangle is a fondly remembered hangout for PCs. While it hasn't figured in my Relic campaign due to the nature of the campaign itself, I keep it handy for one-off adventures.

Just looked at Aslan's galactic map. Cool. Good to see the Kziti, the sheliack (that must be a rough border area) and Gorn on the map.
And the Expanse is there too!

The Typhon Expanse should not be conused with the Expanse from Enterprise, which I am not using. Mostly cause I know nothing about it

But thanks for the comments on the map Tricky
