    Romulan Senate LARP

    Hi,

I am planning on writting a Live Action Role-Playing game based around the Romulan Senate. I plan to use "The way of the D'era" as my biggest source material. I was hoping I could outline my plan, and if anybody had an interest they could suggest some ideas:

The game will be 4 hours long. Broken into 3 "Out of Session", and 3 "In session" segments. (50 minutes out, 30 minutes in) x 3.

There will be two major groups: The "Upstairs" group which are the Senators, and Preator. And the "Downstairs" group which will be the aids to the upstairs characters, and those other characters who have nothing to do with upstairs characters, but are trying to influence the upstairs characters via their aids.

During the 50 minute "out of session" segments, the senators and there aids and the other characters will be chatting, and dealing and conniving in little groups, and freely able to move about the area. During the 30 minute "In Session" segments, the senators will be in the senate room voting, and debating over legistaltion. While the downstairs folks will be trying to create backchannel connections for thier senators, and dealing with thier own personal plots. Maybe some of these "aids" are not what they seeem and are part of the underground, maybe there is a tal shair political officer thier playing mind policeman, maybe a vulcan spy is pretending to be a romulan, etc..

There will be a a few major crisis, which the senate will have to deal with, I have not figured that out. And then many of the senators will have agendas that they are trying to get passed. I just started working on this tonight, so my ideas are still vague.

    Any thoughts.

    Don

Way of D'era is a good place to start, it has alot info on the Political side of things, should be interesting when you get the factions fighting on the Senate Floor.

Since you have the Praetor and the Senate, you might also want think of throwing the Continuing Committee into the mix as well. And don't forget the Military Reps.

That's a very cool premise, wish I could see it.
