On paper, of course. It'll be part of the miscellaneous thread.

Chances are quite good, actually. Hopefully, I should be getting my final copy of Starships soon (::crosses fingers:, but I might tackle it using my galley copy.Originally posted by AslanC

And BTW, there will be two versions of the ship. The 2290's era Starfleet corvette (read "escort") and the heavily-modified TNG-era merchant/smuggler ship SS Backlash.

The Mercury-class was designed to serve as an escort and anti-piracy vessel, and was meant to supplement and replace the undergunned Gann-class ships. For her time, she was a well-armed and tough little ship, able to match guns with Klingon Birds of Prey and Orion pirate ships as well as holding her own for a time against larger more heavily-armed Romulan and Klingon cruisers. They served well until the early years of the 24th Century, when they were phased out in favor of newer, faster escort classes.
Ironically enough, the best known Mercury-class ship is a heavily modified version operating along the Klingon border in the late 24th century, the SS Backlash. (For more information on the Backlash, see my next post. )

Beginning its life as a Mercury-class corvette, the USS Backlash was retired in 2312 and purchased by Mitchell Spain, recently retired himself as an Admiral from Starfleet. As a gift, several of his fellow officers (led by Admiral Marcus Rand) obtained the bridge module of Spain's old command, the Constitution-class USS Midway (NCC-2093), which the retired admiral promptly used to replace the Backlash's current module. Spain spent decades flying and modifying the ship to serve his needs, which included many activities she was originally designed to prevent (mostly smuggling). Using the Backlash, the former admiral founded Spain and Spain shipping out of Precipice on the Klignon border. By the time of the Dominion War, Spain and SPain Shipping, Mitchell Spain and the SS Backlash have all been tentatively linked to the Maquis, had a reward posted for their capture by the Imperial Klingon States, and fought valiantly (and victoriously) against pirates and smugglers from the Orion Syndicate to Ferengi Marauders to renegade Klingons out to take out the old admiral and his damnably dangerous little ship.

Great stats guys.
Doug any chance there are more images of this ship out there?
She does look something like a movie-era version of the later Akira-class vessels, doesn't she?
