Frank Gorshin has passed on, at age 72.
He will be missed.

I didn't know he got an Emmy nomination for playing Bele.
I'll miss him more from the CBS show....not the NBC one....
Goodbye, Riddler!
I can still remember many an eon ago when he and Adam West did a short parody/skit of "Interview with a Vampire" for the MTV Movie Awards, w/Adam playing the vampire, and Frank playing 'the other guy'. The jokes were pretty good:
Frank (after a classic bout of laughing): "Riddle me this: what's the the difference between a vampire, and a asthmatic narcoleptic?"
Adam (totally deadpan): "One sleeps in a coffin, and the other coughs at a sleep-in..."
Cute huh
I even liked his role in "Back to the Batcave", which was cool to see the old gang together, and not trying to redo what they use to do (yeah, they narrated parts that were reactment, but they weren't the ones acting)

...and that's about the time it hit the fan...
Truisms I know:
1) Marvel is NOT better than DC (nor should EVERYTHING be ‘ULTIMITED’),
2) D20 is NOT the best gaming system out there (nor should EVERYTHING be ‘crammed’ into it),
3) And No matter how ‘THEY’ dress it up, Regardless of how ‘THEY’ title it, and even if ‘THEY’ say “BASED ON…”; “ENTERPRISE” IS NOT STAR TREK!!!
4) 'Reality' T.V. ain't 'Real'
My deepest sympathy to Mr. Gorshin's family and friends.
Like many Trek fans, I will fondly remember him for his "Bele" role in one of the most memorable TOS episodes, "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield," which is known for the story's spin on racism.
Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

DISCLAIMER: I Am Not A Lawyer
Did anyone see tonight's 2-hour CSI (Vegas) season finale? Gorshin did a cameo as himself. He looked good, bantering with Tony Curtis and Sam Braun (Catherine Willows' casino-owner father). There was a dedication to him in the end credits - they must've worked overtime adding that in time for the satellite distribution.
"I understand your people believe you evolved from ... apes."
- Bele, attempting to get a rise out of Kirk, who has belittled his prejudice after learning it's based on which side of the face is white. Gorshin's delivery of the line was so well executed that his feelings of disdain and superiority were conveyed perfectly.

"A LAWSUIT!"
"Correct, Boy Blunder!!"

Goodbye, Frank.
