    Orions / Orion Syndicate

    Hi,
I am looking for more information about the Orions and the Orion Syndicate.
Does anyone know where I can find more info (beside what's in the LUG Core book?) on this race and group?

There was the old FASA books on the Orions.

They're pretty hard to find nowadays, though, and about 90% non-canon.

There was alot of information in 'the first line' Lug Trek book, which covered the hidden organisations in Startrek, like Section 31, the VIM, Am-tal, Tal Shiar, Obsidian order and of course The Orion Syndicate.

The Time travel source book also gave a few nugets in it's time line, including the various empires and eras of the Orions, though this was mostly vague, it could be fun to have an adventure when the characters travel back in time to find an Orion empire alot more advanced than the Federation is now!

I also did a little bit on the Orions in my Orion Ships, 225x-present thread.

    No problems.

Speaking of, how is the Arrowhawk faring in the campaign? Is it giving the PCs fits, yet?

Dude the battle was awesome. The PCs ship was a modified Herbert (outfitted with photon torpedoes) sent on a high-priority mission to ferry vaccines. The main opponent has been the Syndicate for the whole series and they have been harassing shipping and engaging in piracy as part of a yet-unknown master plan.1 Arrowhawk and 2 Sprinters (the design that I posted) against the freighter. The purpose of the encounter was to destroy the Herbert so the PCs could move to a better ship. The Herbert actually fared much better than I thought it would and they allmost pulled off a victory. They suffered a warp-core breach though and now crew a Defiant-class due in part to their mission to route out the Syndicate and their involvement with SF Intel.Overall the arrowhawk fared pretty well. The disgrace of their CO was lifted at that point (well actually after a board of inquiry).Gotta love the Orion Syndicate !

I have some background information I have for the ICON Species Database I am making. It is just a colleciton of background info., stats and what not. It is in no way organized. Just copy/paste of chunks of stuff I though may be useful.

Some of it is from the ICON system, some from a write up in CODA one of our fellow TrekRPGNet members wrote up (I need to find that write up again to I can give proper credit to him), and the rest of it seems to be from the old FASA game.

Once I get around to making the Orion data sheet a lot of this material I will just discard. But for now I can send you a copy of the file if you like. It is 51 pages (623 KB) in WordPerfect 10. Just send me an e-mail to address removed. . .see file below and I will forward the file as an attachment.

I'm interested in your Orion write-ups but I can't take it in that format . Does it exist somewhere on the web?

I seem to recall there was a fair amount of Orion info in that old FASA sourcebook about the Triangle. Granted, that stuff's not canon-kosher but some of it might be useful. Then again, my wires could be crossed as well and I'm mixing up my sourcebooks.

Speaking of Orions, is there a Rigel system source out there besides that new Star Charts book? Oh this leads me to another thread...

The only place this sheet exists is on my computer. I converted the sheet to .PDF and posted it here. I have never seen any of the FASA material on the Orions, but I am guessing that the last pages of this .PDF is actually the FASA stuff.

Once I get back to making the ICON species data base, a lot of this information on the .PDF will be lost as it is much more informaiton than I can fit into the data sheet.

Your questions about the Rigel system are, I belive, answered in the .PDF file.

Once I make the Orion datasheet much of that .PDF will be lost. If, however, the FASA police don't make me stop I will polish the .PDF so that it is a nicer layout (and includes only the FASA information) so that this stuff is not lost.

I will post when it is finished.
