Just got hit by my desk top news alert.

Ray Charles Passed at 73

Darned shame.

Alas. In his music, Ray Charles gave us a legacy for the ages. His passing merits, for me, far greater mourning than for our former president. Teach the angelic choir well, Ray... heaven needs your joyful noise.

Good bye, Ray. We'll miss you.

If there ever was a man who was a true musician, who's music spanned every genre and every generation, it was Ray Charles.

I don't like it when an artist puts his own "spin" or "interpretation" on a classic tune. But I'll always make an exception for Ray's spiritual rendition of "America the Beautiful". We've lost another national treasure.
