FASA Conversion and other things
Hi all;
I've been enjoying these Forums for the past few weeks and I am impressed. Don, you have a nice group here!
Some questions:
1)I am converting a character from the FASA system - and I have a LUC rating that was exceptionally high (96!). This factor played a role in her development and I wonder if there are Edges (or other game stats) in the ST:RPG that would be suitable to reflect that.
Since LUC in FASA is generally usable for anything, not specific activities, I tried to find edges that would be more general in scope. I found that to affect all skill rolls, for example, I would have to take Bold, Curious and Confident, but even so, this increased the effectiveness of Courage points, which may or may not be the best way to represent this.
Any suggestions?
2) I have books 1 to 5 of the ST:RPG and have not seen anywhere any idea of how to handle alcohol consumption. Remember Scotty drinking an alien under the table in a TOS episode? I tried to see if poisons would be a good way to represent this but it doesn't seem quite right - perhaps there is a better way, or I missed something?
Thanks!

You could use those Edges to represent the character's high luck, or you could just give him additional Courage Points (say 4 or 5 extra, maybe?).

I'd say go ahead and treat it like a toxin (poison). Have the effects possibly lower Percepption and Agility and each drink has 1 or 2 stages with an onset time that varies from a few minutes to a few rounds.

Thanks, Doug. I was looking at Toxins yesterday and suspected it would have to be the solution, but thought I might have missed something. (too much Romulan ale! :p
