Yes, it has been picked up by SCI-FI for its fifth and final season. It will air that and I believe they are now airing reruns of past episodes.
To me, that spells end of syndication, and no late saturday night viewing (at least there is the one-season-behind syndicated SG-1).
Actually, no Reg. The deal is supposed to be that Sci-Fi runs new episodes 11 Days before they run in Syndication.
Side Question, Just watched the episode where Tyr comes back and the crew is looking for the Route of Ages and this question came to mind.
Was this the 1st mention of the Collectors and if not where were they 1st mentioned? Also, What is their function in the Commonwealth supposed to be?

The Collectors are a secretive group whose function is to collect and preserve information and knowledge that might have been otherwise lost during the Fall of the Commonwealth 300 years ago.
Any BT fan out there can't help but associate this group with that of ComStar ... sans the ritualistic mumbo-jumbo.
I keep watching this show on the outside hope that they'll explain the twists and turns the plot has taken. And always I am blasted in the face by more and more unneccesary complication. Trance an Avatar of the sun? Gimme a frigging break. It's like after Sorbo started exec producing, they just decided to secretly start filming an entirely different show with characters who had the same names. The show at one point in time had potential to grow into something good. Now it's little more than crap. I'm done with it.

Actually, I can't complain. I liked that Andromeda tossed a little 'cosmic-fantasy' into their sci-fi. The Abyss, his minons, and that kick-@$$ Magog Worldship (Galactus would be proud!) brought something new to the traditional "the only thing to fear is: alien races, technology failing, intergalactic disasters, and crews going rogue." therory of sci-fi.
Like my old argument about how the Fed. would handle Galactus (which has sorta been answered by the whole Borg thing.)
Man...I don't mind trance being more than she appears to be. Avatar of the sun is just a bit over the top. It's like, "hey, chick with the sun-powers...do us a favor and eliminate that enemy fleet wouldja?"
"I'm sorry, Dylan, but I can't seem to find a perfect future in which the use of my powers would make sense without ruining the plot."
"That's okay, trance. Just spout off some more uselessly cryptic bonsai metaphors and I'll have Beka distract them in the Maru."

I was going to say "you can always crucify the real ones," but thought that might have been a bit off-color. Same with "call in the ATF to burn their house down."
Point is, as an avatar of the sun, Trance really needs to start pulling her weight; to dispense with the cryptic and make with the smiting of foes. You know...put that whole deus ex machina thing she's got going to use...

Hey, wait that makes sense! There was an episode where Dylan found himself married to some chick with kids (ok, that sounds like a couple of Sorbo show episodes), i think he was in orbit in a space suit round a black hole.
Anyway, at the end, when he confronted the "wife" with proff that the whole thing was a lie, and he asked why she did it, she said something like "You're destroying my people." or somesuch.
Sorry, rambling. Sometimes brain makes connections and I have to get them out before I lose the inspriation.

Remember, we're dealing with a future Trance who already knew what happened in the future, which according to her, somehow failed and all hell broke loose. She's treating this timeline so as not to cause a major ripple unless it is the very last resort.
Of course, one can't helped for a mortal to demand such task when in the presence of such a powerful being. I mean if Jesus Christ is standing before my very eyes, and after having bowed to His presence, I would plead that He get rid of evil people like that cleric Sadr, but one can't really know what His real agenda, or how much interference he'll make without such severe repercussions ... aka the domino effect.
P.S. I used such figure as an example not to provoke nor illicit strong reaction.
Well, to be honest, the reason I mentioned the Deus ex machina was actually because the story has grown so complicated and twisted that it hearkens back to Greek Drama where the "god's machine was used to lower an actor in playing the part of Zeus or Athena or some other divine type, to wave his hands and clear up the complexities the writer had created. The episode in which Trance reveals herself is a perfect example.
Hmm. There's the Route of Ages. It opens doors into other universes. Much better than a wormhole that leads merely to another corner of the galaxy...a whole 'nother universe...hell, multiple universes! Whoops! Beka is gonna fall through the sucker...let's see if we can have her fall into a universe that we can easily find again...
Hey, I'm sorry. I just realized that I am probably dissing on a show that you may like. I'll refrain. My point, i guess is not so much that I have a problem with Trance being "more than she appears." It just seems a bit over the top. And there always seems to be a thing with cosmic beings who hang out with mortals, "I must be careful not to interfere..." It sometimes gets to a point where you start to wonder if the cosmic person refrains from interfering because the writers don't really have an idea where they're going with the whole thing. And that's definitely what I'm getting from Andromeda these days. I have the sense that maybe, at one point, they had a clear direction, even if it wasn't evident to the audience. Now, i think the writers and producers are just as much surprised as the audience is.
I've given it a chance these past seasons, and it seems that the shows are just getting worse and worse, not better. So, I don't mean to diss something you may enjoy, but I reckon I've had my fill, sadly, with the once promising Andromeda.
